Containment, release, extraction, fusion.
The containment here should be similar to sealing.
Release is easier to understand; it's summoning the Deformed Person back out. The Deformed Person that was contained and then released will obey him.
It's equivalent to summoning a monster.
In other words, the Deformed Person that was previously contained. If these Deformed Persons suffer fatal damage and cannot be recalled into the card in time, they will still die, and those severely injured will be unable to recover for a short period.
Without this restriction, it would truly be possible to exploit bugs infinitely.
As for extraction, it's about extracting one ability from the Deformed Person's abilities. As for fusion, the Ghost Card didn't provide many hints.
Li Dan guessed it might be similar to a Demon's Possession, or perhaps directly transforming into a Deformed Person? Or maybe it could fuse with other contained objects to become a new monster?
All of this would have to wait until after experimentation.
Li Dan walked outside and chose to release the Deformed Person within the Two of Hearts. Soon, a tall Deformed Person appeared in the empty room. Compared to its near-death state just now, the re-released Deformed Person was clearly unharmed.
The Deformed Person stood there blankly. Even upon seeing Li Dan, it didn't react much, merely waiting for the next command.
He then experimented with fusing the Deformed Person card.
It didn't turn into that disgusting appearance of a Deformed Person as imagined, but it seemed that if he willed it, he could also take on that ugly form.
Secondly, his strength increased by at least two to three times, pain sensation decreased, eyesight seemed to have become a bit clearer, and his physique and recovery abilities increased.
This Deformed Person seemed to be the second eldest among the three Deformed Persons.
It was smarter and could use a bow and arrow. That bow and arrow were left behind; the other two Deformed Persons clearly couldn't use them.
A Two of Hearts + Deformed Person had such an effect. What would the King, Queen, Guards, and the little ghosts and big ghosts behind them be like?
What kind of beings should be contained by these Ghost Cards?
Li Dan couldn't think of it for the moment, but he eventually reached a conclusion: the Deformed Persons that were contained could still use their original weapons and didn't become as stiff as inanimate objects.
For example, if he ordered it to kill someone.
Without additional instructions, the Deformed Person would kill the person using its own methods.
Li Dan didn't choose to fuse. Instead, he brought the Deformed Person, returned the bow and arrows to the second eldest Deformed Person, had him follow closely and hide, then turned back to find Jessie and the others.
The entire family of Deformed Persons were valuable combat forces, and he didn't want to let any of them go.
Li Dan held a hunting rifle, and the second eldest Mutated Ogre, carrying a bow and quiver, followed behind him into the forest.
At this moment, the forest cast terrifying shadows under the twilight, like an ominous sign.
Meanwhile.
In the gradually dimming forest.
Scott, the man from the young couple who came with Chris, was currently sprinting across the ground, occasionally looking back in fear.
He had gotten separated from the other three. The two Deformed Persons seemed to be toying with their prey, leisurely following behind.
Instantly.
A large hand covered Scott's mouth and nose. He began to struggle frantically, fear spreading in his heart.
"Shut up!"
A quiet, rough voice startled Scott. When he saw it was Li Dan, his expression could only be described as beyond surprise; he looked as if he had seen God.
Li Dan stared into the jungle. Behind another tree, the second eldest Mutated Ogre was drawing a bow and nocking an arrow, staring intently at his two compatriots.
A roaring sound of a car suddenly came from afar, attracting the attention of the two Deformed Persons, who immediately turned and rushed back.
Seeing the Deformed Persons retreat, Scott leaned against a tree and crouched down.
"Thanks, Li. If it weren't for you, I might be dead by now."
"No need to thank me. Tell me what happened after you got separated."
As Scott described, Li Dan was surprised that this person was quite sentimental, even sacrificing himself to lure away the Deformed Persons.
As a selfish person, he greatly admired such good people.
If most people were like Scott, how wonderful would this world be?
Scott was halfway through his story when he suddenly seemed to realize something and said angrily, "We have to go back and save Carly and the others. With you here, we can definitely take down those bastards!"
After the sun set.
The mountainous area fell into darkness and silence.
Until a watchtower burst into flames, like a light in the darkness, growing brighter and brighter.
On the watchtower, Chris, Jessie, and Carly were like ants on a hot pan. If they went down, there were Mutated Ogres; if they didn't, they would be burned to death. It was Chris who saw the surrounding trees and thought of the only solution: jumping onto the branches around the watchtower.
Jessie was already regretting it at this point. It would have been better to follow Li Dan and return. Most importantly, her best friend Carly seemed to have no will to live, crying and refusing to leave.
This made the two Deformed Persons below even more excited.
But they didn't notice Li Dan and Scott quietly approaching from behind.
"Oh, fuck!"
The moment the tree branch beneath the three who had just leaped onto it snapped, the entire group fell.
Seeing the Deformed Persons about to pounce on him, Chris scrambled away in terror.
"Boom."
A gunshot rang out, and the smallest Deformed Person instantly fled into the jungle to hide.
At this moment, illuminated by the firelight.
Jessie saw the situation clearly. Scott had fired the shot, but he was currently being grabbed by the tallest Deformed Person. Just then, a cold arrow pierced the giant Deformed Person's arm. The Deformed Person let go of Scott with a pained roar.
Li Dan emerged from the shadows. He was impressed by Scott's aim, thinking, Even with such poor accuracy, he's still North American.
Carly, who had been seeking death, was overcome with joy upon seeing her boyfriend was still alive.
"Scott!"
"Li Dan." Jessie was equally surprised. Li Dan was the only man in the team who gave her a sense of security.
Li Dan looked at the strongest Mutated Ogre, chambering a round in his shotgun.
The Mutated Ogre forcefully pulled the arrow from its arm and charged toward Li Dan, but in the darkness, a second Mutated Ogre collided head-on with the former boss.
The Mutated Ogre Boss seemed to still have some affection, looking confused as the second one continuously attacked him, trying to awaken its conscience.
However, under the frenzied assault of the second Mutated Ogre, the Ogre Boss roared in pain and began to fight back.
At this point, Jessie, Chris, and the others were stunned. The Mutated Ogres were fighting amongst themselves, like dogs biting dogs?
Fueled by the nearby flames, the two monsters collided, swinging their fists at each other's heads. For a normal person, this combo would have been devastating, but the Mutated Ogres only let out a couple of pained cries.
Reduced pain meant they weren't afraid of death.
The second one was still much weaker than the boss.
Jessie grabbed Li Dan's hand and pulled him, "Dan, they're fighting now, let's run."
"Jessie, where can you run to if you leave now?"
Can't even finish them off, no wonder you get counter-killed, Li Dan broke free from Jessie's hand, chambered a round in his shotgun, and aimed at the Mutated Ogre Boss. Under his command, the second Mutated Ogre moved aside.
"Bang!"
Li Dan shot the Mutated Ogre Boss in the chest. The creature didn't fall but instead charged at him. He then shot its knees several times until it could only crawl on its hands.
Li Dan watched the Mutated Ogre Boss crawl on the ground with its hands, but he didn't kill it. Instead, he had the second one drag the boss into the darkness.
The shotgun was out of bullets, and Li Dan tossed it aside.
The fire in the watchtower still burned.
Although everyone didn't know why these two ugly ogres had turned on each other, they were all relieved to have escaped with their lives.
