The playground baked under the scorching sun.

Thudding basketballs echoed across the court as several boys leaped up for dunks, their sneakers grinding against the rubber surface when they landed, drawing screams from the girls at the sidelines.

Li Dan lay on Maria's slender yet soft thighs, gazing at the clear blue sky. Sometimes, he wished time would pass faster; other times, he wished it would slow down.

The power he had gained had inflated his confidence in a short time. It had been a long while since he had enjoyed such peace and quiet at school.

On the other side of the lawn, two girls had spread out several school uniform jackets. A few girls sat side by side, their uniform skirts brushing the ground as they chatted about a new exhibition at the mall over the weekend.
