"So, why did you come to Hell's Kitchen?"
Tony, eating a cheeseburger, asked Xia Ling with a puzzled expression. Natasha and the old village chief followed behind them.
"This, Stark, would you believe me if I said I just came to see the beautiful scenery?"
Believe your ass!
Tony rolled his eyes. Who would believe such nonsense? Did he really not consider him a super genius?
"It seems you don't believe me. Fine, then I'll tell you the real reason. I have a premonition that I'll see someone extraordinary again."
Premonition?
And you say you're not a prophet!
Tony muttered inwardly, becoming even more convinced that this Director Xia from S.H.I.E.L.D. was Yahweh's messenger.
He just didn't understand why, for such an honorable matter, he wouldn't admit it.
All the prophets in history couldn't wait to let the whole world know.
"Tony, I've treated you to so many meals, and you still won't cooperate with my performance. The world is really changing, and people's hearts are not what they used to be."
Looking at Xia Ling, who wanted him to be grateful for just a few burgers, Tony almost choked on his cheeseburger. The famous Iron Man was nearly murdered by a cheeseburger.
"Cough, cough, I always thought I was the one who liked to steal the spotlight, but today I have to admit, Director Xia, your 'burger diplomacy' skills are truly beyond my reach."
Tony teased, with remnants of the burger still on his lips, but his eyes flickered with helplessness at Xia Ling's actions.
Xia Ling chuckled at Tony's teasing, lightly patted Tony's shoulder, and gestured for them to move on.
The group continued to weave through the intricate streets of Hell's Kitchen, Natasha and Coulson constantly observing their surroundings.
This was Hell's Kitchen, the most chaotic place in New York. A single mistake could cost even these elite agents their lives.
Tony ate his burger while searching for anything unusual, hoping to find something that could help with the dire situation in the future.
Only Xia Ling strolled as if he were on a leisurely outing.
"Look, isn't that Kingpin's lover? What's going on?"
Following Xia Ling's finger, everyone looked and saw a stumbling man struggling to open the door of a law firm not far away.
The bandages on his body clearly indicated that he had recently suffered serious injuries.
But this was normal. In this territory of Hell's Kitchen, who could guarantee they would remain unharmed?
The man had clearly heard Xia Ling's remark and turned his head in displeasure.
"How rare. I didn't expect to run into the famous Daredevil while out for a walk. What a coincidence."
"And you call this famous?"
Tony's face twitched, and he muttered softly, "This Director Xia really calls everyone famous. Are there that many famous people?"
He didn't recognize this person at all. How could any Tom, Dick, or Harry be called famous?
Matt's heart tightened upon hearing Xia Ling's teasing. He quickly adjusted his emotions, trying to conceal his identity.
He forced himself to remain calm, turned around, a flicker of vigilance in his eyes, but quickly regained his usual composure and steadiness.
"Sir, you are quite the joker. I am merely an ordinary lawyer at this law firm, Matt Murdock. I am hardly the famous Daredevil.
Besides, who doesn't know the chaos of Hell's Kitchen? I am merely doing my best to provide legal aid to the residents here."
Matt's words conveyed a sense of humility and helplessness, but more so, worry about his identity being exposed.
"Coulson, tell him who we are."
Xia Ling didn't answer him directly and gestured for Coulson beside him to speak.
After all, he was the director of an agency; having him say everything would be beneath him.
Coulson reluctantly stepped forward, faithfully fulfilling his duty as the director's subordinate.
"Mr. Murdock, we are FBI agents. We have recorded all your actions. This is our director. We hope you will cooperate with our work."
Coulson then took out his badge to prove his identity to Daredevil.
Seeing this, Xia Ling frowned. Taking out a badge was too low-level.
Those who didn't know might think he was selling fake documents.
He should bring a few armed helicopters over to play with sometime. If you don't believe the badge, do you not believe the guns and cannons of armed helicopters?
Matt took the badge and examined it. There were no problems. These people were indeed FBI agents. Wait, that wasn't right. There was a voice just now, clearly Tony Stark, that playboy's voice.
Tony Stark is also FBI? This is not right. These people are suspicious.
Thinking this, Matt's vigilance intensified, but he maintained his outward calm.
It was daytime, and he was just a lawyer with no strength to even kill a chicken, not a street hero of the night.
If he made a move, perhaps the entire Hell's Kitchen would know his true identity.
Matt quickly calculated his countermeasures, knowing that in this situation, maintaining calmness and caution was crucial.
He slowly handed the badge back to Coulson, saying in a calm tone, "Thank you for your honesty, FBI agents. I will naturally cooperate with any lawful investigation, but please allow me to finish my current affairs first. As a lawyer, I have a responsibility to protect my clients and the safety of my firm."
"Look, what do you call a master of playing dumb? This is what you call a master of playing dumb. Impressive, Daredevil. Coulson, take notes quickly, you need to learn from him!"
Coulson pursed his lips and smiled helplessly. He had to be dragged into this too. Director Xia really had no end to it.
Beside him, Natasha cast a sympathetic glance at her colleague. Ever since the new director took office, he was going bald. She wondered if there was any hope for him.
Matt's eyes widened. Why wasn't this person listening to him? Playing dumb? Had he ever played dumb?
Although Matt felt helpless inside, he maintained a professional smile on the surface. He emphasized again, "Everyone, I am indeed Matt Murdock, an ordinary lawyer focused on providing legal support to my clients. As for the title Daredevil, I have never heard of it, and it has nothing to do with me."
Seeing that this Daredevil was still desperately denying his identity, Xia Ling stopped playing along and walked up to him.
"Alright, Daredevil, just admit it. I believe you don't want to end up in prison, sharing a cell and picking up soap with Kingpin, do you?"
