Hearing her daughter's question, Mrs. Brief reached out and pulled Rhode over, introducing him warmly. "Oh, Tais, this is Rhode. He's an alien too!"
"Huh?"
Her mother's words made Tais' eyes widen.
What was going on? Had she stumbled into some kind of alien nest? How were aliens, once found only in fantasies, appearing one after another?
Surprised, Tais looked curiously at Rhode and introduced herself. "Hello, I'm Tais!"
"Rhode!"
Rhode smiled in response to Tais.
"Oh, right, Gyak, this is my—huh?"
After the introductions, Tais suddenly remembered why her parents had come here. She intended to introduce everyone to Gyak of the Galactic Patrol, the key figure in this incident, but when she turned around, she discovered that this guy had vanished.
"Where did Gyak run off to? He was just here!"
Not seeing Gyak, Tais froze in place, her face full of confusion and bewilderment. She had no idea why he had suddenly run away.
Tais did not understand what was happening, but Rhode knew perfectly well.
When Dr. Brief and the others stepped onto the island, Gyak had initially waited quietly for Tais to introduce him. But after Rhode appeared, this guy, who loved to boast despite being rather weak, began quietly edging backward.
Then, while Rhode was not paying attention to him for the moment, he ran off.
Bang!
Just as Tais stood there in confusion, a loud noise rang out. Then everyone saw a spaceship roughly a dozen meters long rise into the sky.
"What is Gyak doing? The ship isn't fully repaired yet, so he can't go back anyway!"
Seeing Gyak start the unrepaired ship, Tais frowned, unable to understand what he was thinking. In its current condition, the spaceship could not possibly return to Galactic Patrol headquarters.
"Heh heh."
