In the blink of an eye, Roland had been staying at Tights's home for six days.

Over the past few days, Dr. Brief had successfully developed the Dragon Radar, but the flashy old man had yet to hand it over to Roland. The reason was that he wanted to add a video chat feature to it. When Tights found out, she had a furious argument with Dr. Brief.

Roland was also thoroughly embarrassed. In the original story, Dr. Brief had gotten caught up in the sound system when modifying Goku's spaceship, too. It seemed Dr. Brief was very particular about the details.

After getting the Dragon Radar, Roland pressed the power button. A few golden dots soon appeared on the green grid display. There was a signal source at the arrow in the center—the signal of the Dragon Ball in his hand.

He gradually increased the scanning range. When he scanned the entire Earth, all seven dots appeared.

Roland looked at the signals on the Dragon Radar with delight, a smile touching the corners of his mouth.

"Well, what do you think? My dad's a real genius, huh..." Tights sidled up to Roland with a smug smile. Her golden hair brushed against his cheek, and a pleasant fragrance drifted into his nose.

"It's great—better than I expected," Roland said approvingly, glancing at Tights.

Compared with the Dragon Radar Bulma had made, Dr. Brief's version had even more features. It could even change angles and display signals in three dimensions, making the Dragon Balls much easier to find.

Of course, the radar really had been fitted with a video chat feature. It was quite flashy.

Tights puffed out her chest and giggled. After telling her parents, she urged Roland to hurry up and start looking for the Dragon Balls.

Dr. Brief and his wife knew their daughter well. They knew Tights would never stay home by herself, so rather than let her go adventuring alone, they figured it was better to have someone strong accompany her. Roland was the perfect choice. So when Tights proposed going to find the Dragon Balls, the couple readily allowed their eldest daughter to go with him.

In private, Mrs. Brief even joked that if Roland were a few years older, she'd happily give Tights to him. Roland could only shake his head, speechless.

"Tights, don't spend all your time away from home. Come back once you've found the Dragon Balls. You're supposed to inherit Capsule Corporation."

Tights shook her head quickly. "I don't want to. You can leave the company to Bulma. She's so clever—she's much better suited for it than I am!"

Dr. Brief was about to say something, but Tights grabbed Roland and dashed outside. After saying goodbye to Dr. Brief, Roland and Tights drove away from West City in a jeep.

As they drove along the wide highway, Roland asked Tights, "You really don't want to inherit the family business?"

"I don't want that kind of life at all. Traveling around suits me much better." She paused, then asked with interest, "Where should we go next?"

Roland took out the Dragon Radar and looked at it, then pointed in a direction. "Let's head east first. The radar shows a Dragon Ball overseas. That's where 'the God of Martial Arts,' Master Roshi, lives."

"Got it!"

Tights brought up the navigation system to check the route, then yanked the steering wheel and drove east.

Just as Roland and Tights set out to find the Dragon Balls, far away, on the other side of the starry sky,

brilliant stars glittered like pearls. Outside Planet Vegeta, a massive, disc-shaped spaceship was docked in orbit.

Inside the spaceship,

Frieza floated beside a porthole in a small, egg-shaped hover pod. His long tail dangled and swayed in midair as his blood-red eyes gazed at Planet Vegeta ahead.

"Kikono, how is the investigation into the Super Saiyan going?" Frieza's shrill voice rang out.

The yellow-skinned alien named Kikono stood beside Frieza. At Frieza's question, he replied calmly, "According to our investigation, the Super Saiyan and the Super Saiyan God are just myths the Saiyans made up to glorify themselves."

"Oh-ho-ho-ho, I thought so too. Whether it's a myth or not doesn't matter now. What a pity to lose such fine fighters!" Frieza's hover pod turned around. A sinister gleam shone in his scarlet eyes, and his purple lips parted as he ordered Dodoria, "Mr. Dodoria, order all Saiyans currently out on missions to return to Planet Vegeta."

"Understood."

Dodoria replied without hesitation, then left the command room.

Kikono was taken aback. "Lord Frieza, what are you planning to do?"

Frieza pressed his lips together in a sinister smile. "It's not what I want to do. This is Lord Beerus's order. I'm only carrying it out. The Saiyans of Planet Vegeta are a powerful force under my command, but they only submitted to me because my father forced them to. A people like that might turn on us at any time. It's best to wipe them out sooner rather than later."

"Lord Beerus?!" Kikono's expression turned grave, and the two feelers atop his head stopped moving.

He was a longtime subordinate of King Cold. After King Cold retired, he and another veteran, Berryblue, had helped Frieza manage the legion. He had naturally heard of Beerus, the God of Destruction, which was why Frieza's mention of him had shocked him so much.

"If this is Lord Beerus's order, then there's nothing we can do."

Frieza chuckled. "That's right. The Saiyans brought this on themselves. I wonder what they did to offend Lord Beerus... Oh-ho-ho-ho! Even I have to be careful around Lord Beerus, but this works out perfectly. He's made the decision to wipe out those Saiyans for me."

"It's just a pity to lose such capable fighters."

Kikono and Berryblue had served King Cold for many years. They were concerned with the strength of the entire Frieza Legion. Without the Saiyans, the legion would lose a good deal of its power to intimidate others.

"That's all right. If we're short on manpower, we'll recruit more. There's no shortage of aliens in the universe who want to make a name for themselves."

"I understand." Kikono nodded.

The egg-shaped hover pod floated into the air. Frieza propped his chin on his hands and looked at Planet Vegeta. After a moment, he said to Zarbon beside him, "Have the Yugarites bring me Planet Vegeta's communication records. Since we're going to eliminate the Saiyans, we need to wipe them out completely. If any Saiyans haven't returned by then, we'll hunt them down one by one using the roster."

"Mr. Zarbon, I'll leave this task to you."

"Yes, Lord Frieza!"

Zarbon was a handsome alien with dark green hair. His expression turned serious as he immediately answered, then hesitated before asking, "Lord Frieza, Prince Vegeta is also among those currently out on a mission. Should we eliminate him too?"

Frieza waved a hand. "Leave Vegeta out of it. He's quite an entertaining toy. Let him stick around for a while!"
