"With this equipment, and the healing power of Senzu Beans, my strength is going to improve enormously... But I need to watch my health, too. I can't overuse the gravity equipment and end up stunting my growth." After warning himself, Roland stepped out of the spaceship, his heart racing with excitement.
"By the way, this spaceship can turn into a Hoi-Poi Capsule too, right?" It would be a pain if he couldn't carry it around.
"Of course. That's a basic feature," Dr. Brief said matter-of-factly.
Everything made at the Capsule Corporation's production facilities came with a miniaturization function, from refrigerators and TVs to mansions and cruise ships. The Capsule Corporation had built its business on this technology.
Roland nodded, then looked toward another piece of equipment near the Gravity Spaceship. It was a spherical object about eight meters in diameter, surrounded by six thick metal supports. "What's that?"
Dr. Brief answered, "Oh, that's a simulation device we built while making the Gravity Chamber. It only has about half the capacity of the spaceship's gravity chamber, but it's made of the strongest alloy, so it can withstand blasts of extremely dense energy."
"Can it be shrunk into a capsule too?"
"Yes."
Roland eyed the spherical Gravity Chamber with interest. Even as a prototype built for preliminary testing, it could easily reach fifty times normal gravity. Dr. Brief's genius was almost unimaginable.
Roland wasn't about to pass up something that good, so he asked Dr. Brief if he could take the gravity chamber. Dr. Brief didn't care about the prototype at all, so he agreed without hesitation.
Carefully turning both pieces of gravity equipment into Hoi-Poi Capsules and tucking them away, Roland looked forward to the future.
It was time to return to Planet Vegeta.
Roland murmured to himself.
He'd been away from Planet Vegeta for almost a year. Going by the story, Frieza would be destroying it soon. But now that he had the Transfer Technique, he didn't have to fear the planet's destruction. At worst, he could save Sephiria and then transfer to another planet.
He'd gone to so much trouble for that big sister of his. She ought to repay him, shouldn't she?
Maybe by offering herself to him or something.
Enough, enough. Roland pictured his breathtakingly beautiful sister, her smile like a flower, then hurriedly pushed the thought away. If he dared think that way, Sephiria would slap him to death if she found out.
After spending several months together, Roland had gotten a pretty good sense of Sephiria's personality. She was a savage, cold, taciturn woman who only knew how to train. Aside from training and fighting, she had nothing else on her mind. She was a pure-blooded Saiyan through and through.
Having decided to return to Planet Vegeta, he went to say goodbye to Dr. Brief and the others.
"Keep in touch with me on the communicator after you get back! I had a lot of fun traveling with you. Let's go on another adventure sometime," Tights said when she heard Roland was leaving. She assumed he was going back to his own tribe. Since they were all on Earth anyway, she didn't think much of it. After telling him to keep in touch, she buried herself in writing her novel again.
"Tights doesn't seem to know about extraterrestrial civilizations."
"I told her I was a Saiyan, but she thought I meant one of Earth's tribes."
Roland shrugged at Dr. Brief. Tights' imagination only went so far. No wonder she couldn't write anything popular. Hopefully her new novel would be a hit, but that seemed unlikely.
In the original story, after Tights met Jaco, a Galactic Patrol officer, she wrote a novel based on him. But it wasn't popular. It wasn't until later, when she traveled to different planets and used those experiences as inspiration, that her novels became hits.
Just then, Mrs. Brief came over, holding Bulma's hand. "Oh my, little Roland's leaving? Auntie's going to miss you."
Bulma raised her hand and waved her pale purple pigtail. "Goodbye! Tell me a story next time."
"Goodbye, everyone!" Roland waved to Bulma and her family, then rose into the air. Energy surged inside him, and soon he became a speck of light that disappeared at the far end of the sky.
After finding an uninhabited place, Roland appeared again.
Planet Vegeta was a great distance from Earth. Each use of the Transfer Technique consumed an astonishing amount of energy, and with a battle power of 520, Roland couldn't make the journey in one jump. He would need to stop at several planets along the way.
He found Planet Vegeta's location on the spaceship's map, then noted the planets he could use as stopovers. Once everything was ready, Roland held his breath and focused. The Metamoran Transfer Technique sprang into action. A blurry flash of light flickered where he stood, and Roland was gone from Earth.
Compared to the first time he'd left Planet Vegeta, Roland was much calmer on the way back. With a secure escape route, he felt confident even when facing members of the Frieza Legion.
At Kami's Lookout.
Kami noticed Roland's ki disappear from Earth and finally breathed a sigh of relief. "He's finally left."
Kami hadn't been able to rest properly for a while. He'd kept watch over Roland's movements, constantly on edge and afraid the boy would cause trouble that couldn't be cleaned up. Roland was so powerful that even Kami wouldn't be able to stop him if he did. It was best for such a troublesome visitor to leave as soon as possible.
"I can't make sense of that child at all... He seems to know so many secrets about Earth. He's so young, yet his strength is terrifying."
Kami put those thoughts aside, a faint sense of relief on his face. With Roland staying on Earth, he might have gone months without a good night's sleep.
Fortunately, Roland had left.
Korin was just as relieved. After being robbed once, he really didn't want to deal with that child again.
After several stops to rest and replenish his energy, Roland appeared on the planet nearest to Planet Vegeta about an hour later.
After taking a short break on the planet, he pulled food from a Hoi-Poi Capsule and ate his fill. Then he stood up and locked onto Planet Vegeta's position. According to the information returned by the Transfer Technique, the planet hadn't yet been destroyed by Frieza.
Roland took a deep breath. "Next, I'll be landing on Planet Vegeta. I've been away for a year. I wonder what it's like now."
A flicker of excitement passed through his heart, then he calmed himself. The Transfer Technique activated, and his small figure vanished from the planet.
