Located in the western reaches of the North Galaxy lies Planet Frie, a mid-level world.
On this day, a massive, pitch-black object suddenly shattered the planet's tranquility. The spacecraft tore through the atmosphere with a deafening roar, and the intense red glow combined with the clouds of dust kicked up across the sky sent the indigenous inhabitants of Planet Frie into a panic. Some of the locals, believing that Kami had descended, prostrated themselves on the ground in worship.
Clack!
The ship's hatch opened, and a man and a woman stepped out first, followed by a child-like figure.
Roland activated his scouter to test the energy readings on the planet, and soon, several signatures exceeding 1,000 in combat power appeared on the display.
"There are seven energy signatures on this planet exceeding 1,000 in combat power, located 137 kilometers to the east, 546 kilometers to the south..."
He recited the results one by one. This was a relatively primitive planet where civilization had yet to develop; those energy readings were likely just wild beasts.
The scouter Roland was using was his own; Sephiria and Hertz had destroyed theirs after departing Planet Vegeta.
"I'll go clear those lifeforms out," Hertz said directly.
After a period of interstellar travel, they had arrived at this "Planet Frie." Since they intended to live here for a while, they couldn't leave any lifeforms with strong energy signatures behind to avoid being disturbed during their training.
"Leave it to you."
Roland nodded slightly and handed the scouter to Hertz.
Hertz nodded, took the device, and vanished in a flash of white light. With a combat power as high as 4,300, dealing with mere lifeforms on a mid-level planet was naturally no problem at all.
After Hertz left, Roland and Sephiria quickly fired energy blasts to clear the surrounding area. The thunderous energy attacks produced spectacular mushroom clouds, completely obliterating everything within a ten-kilometer radius. Rolling mountains were leveled by the terrifying force, and the barren earth began to emit wisps of heat.
Afterward, Roland took a small cabin out of a Hoi-Poi Capsule, and their temporary residence on Planet Frie was complete.
"Bring out your other Gravity Chamber," Sephiria said.
"What do you need it for?" Roland glanced at Sephiria before taking out the second gravity training room.
Sephiria: "From now on, this chamber is for my training. That's that."
With that, Sephiria tossed her head, walked straight into the Gravity Chamber, and slammed the hatch shut. Soon, the room began to emit a low, humming sound.
This woman was truly overbearing; this was his training room, after all.
Roland stared blankly at Sephiria's actions, rendered speechless. "Sephiria isn't just cold-natured; I didn't expect her to be a training fanatic just like Vegeta." Then again, she had been the one to occupy the Gravity Chamber the longest during their journey to Planet Frie.
He hoped she wouldn't overtrain and cause damage to her body. Although a Senzu Bean could heal any injury, it was ineffective against internal illnesses.
However, in the original story, Vegeta used the Gravity Chamber the same way without any apparent ill effects, so there shouldn't be any major problems. Still, it was hard to say; every body was different. Goku had inexplicably developed a heart virus—while the cause was unknown, one couldn't rule out the Gravity Chamber as a factor.
If it were some minor ailment, a Senzu Bean truly couldn't prevent it.
Should I use the Dragon Balls to wish for an eternally healthy body? Roland's mind wandered as he stepped into his own Gravity Chamber.
Activating 20x gravity, Roland struggled to train his body in the harsh environment.
Several hours later, Hertz returned to the landing site after clearing out the high-energy lifeforms on Planet Frie. Seeing that both Roland and his sister were training in their respective chambers, he silently went off to hunt for food.
Saiyans had massive appetites; the three of them required enough food for a hundred people in a single sitting.
In the evening, beside a crackling campfire, the three of them gorged themselves on their meal, a pile of bones half as tall as a person already accumulating beside them.
"Sephiria, my combat power has reached 5,000," Hertz said while eating, sharing the results of his training.
The Gravity Chamber was indeed the most suitable tool for Saiyan training; in just over ten days, Hertz's combat power had soared. Hertz himself was a high-class warrior with excellent talent; otherwise, he wouldn't have surpassed 4,000 combat power at the age of twenty-six.
Sephiria tore off a large chunk of meat and stuffed it into her mouth; despite the vigorous movement, she didn't look the least bit unrefined.
"I'm about to reach 6,000 combat power."
Roland set down his food and wiped the grease from the corner of his mouth. "I haven't even reached 1,000 yet."
"Roland, you're still young. I wasn't as strong as you at your age," Hertz said, having always assumed Roland was a high-class warrior.
Sephiria kept her head down as she ate, her voice cold. "Don't praise him. This kid only knows how to increase his energy; his combat techniques are a complete mess. If he ran into an opponent of equal strength, he wouldn't even know how he died."
Roland glanced at Sephiria. "Sister, can you stop picking on me?"
"You think you're strong? We Saiyans are known for our fighting, yet your practical combat ability isn't even as good as a child who just left the training camp." Sephiria's bright eyes fixed on Roland, the cold chill in her gaze making him unable to hold his own.
As her younger brother, Sephiria was very dissatisfied with his current state; one had to know that balanced development was the true path to power.
The factors that decided the outcome of a battle were nothing more than combat technique, attack speed, striking power, durability, and recovery ability. Attack speed, striking power, and durability could be improved through strength training, but combat technique could only be accumulated through rich, real-world experience.
Roland buried his head in his roasted meat. Sephiria's criticism was correct; what he lacked was combat experience.
"Only through the test of real combat will combat techniques significantly improve."
Hertz: "Don't be angry. Roland is still young; increasing his energy is what's important right now."
Sephiria furrowed her delicate brows slightly, then suddenly said, "Starting tomorrow, I'll be your sparring partner. I'm going to get your combat experience up."
"Really?" Roland was overjoyed. In the past, Sephiria had only trained him to improve his durability; she had never taught him any combat techniques.
Although Saiyan infants were programmed with certain combat techniques by computers during their missions, how could that compare to personal instruction from Sephiria?
"Of course it's real. Prepare yourself." Sephiria ate elegantly, her gaze fixed coldly on Roland.
"Uh..." His heart skipped a beat. Roland's smile stiffened as he recalled being ravaged by Sephiria in the past.
Roland couldn't help but regret his reaction; he should have asked Hertz to train him. Sephiria never knew how to hold back when she went crazy, and especially now that she knew he had Senzu Beans, it was even more impossible to expect mercy from her.
