"By the way, how did you know Saiyans were an alien race? Did your father tell you?" Of Tights's family, only Dr. Brief knew Roland's identity.
Tights replied, "No. I met a Galactic Patrolman named Jaco. He told me, and he also said Saiyans were an evil, domineering race."
So the Galactic Patrol had already reached Earth! That meant Goku should have arrived there too. Roland just didn't know whether the Galactic Patrol had found him.
When he asked Tights about it, she said Jaco hadn't found the Saiyan. Later, with Bulma's help, Jaco had repaired his spaceship and returned to Galactic Patrol headquarters.
"Tell me honestly, where are you now?" Tights asked curiously.
Roland didn't try to hide it. He answered readily, "I'm on a pristine planet in the North Galaxy. There are only native inhabitants here, and they haven't developed a civilization yet..."
"Wow, I'm so jealous. I want to visit other planets too."
"You'll get your chance someday."
A smile appeared on Roland's face. Just then, he heard the sound of rushing water through the communicator. He furrowed his brow and asked, "What are you doing?"
"Taking a bath. Want to see?" Tights's laughter rang out like silver bells. After speaking, she pressed the communicator's video button.
At once, a bathroom appeared on Roland's screen. In the misty, steam-filled room, Tights had her hair pinned up and was covered in suds. The image flashed by, and she quickly turned off the video.
"Well? Wasn't that tempting?"
Roland's face was suddenly covered in exasperated lines. He'd thought Tights was the normal one in her family, but apparently she wasn't all that normal either. Even if he was a kid, she shouldn't joke around like that!
"Then keep the video on if you've got the guts!"
"Tehehe, I can't do that. I can't let you see." Tights laughed teasingly. After rinsing off, she sank into the tub, a lovely, peach-blossom smile on her face.
After ending the call with Tights, Roland shook his head and smiled faintly. Unlike his serious, somewhat rigid older sister, Tights always made him feel inexplicably relaxed whenever they talked.
Sometimes her thoughts went off in all directions, but more often, she had a way of leaving people so overwhelmed they felt their IQ dropping.
He remembered that in the original story, Tights was so passionate about traveling that by the time Bulma got married and had a child, her older sister was still single. If Roland were a few years older, he definitely wouldn't let her get away. Come to think of it, Mrs. Brief had once joked about giving Tights to him.
After letting his mind wander for a while, Roland gathered his thoughts. He glanced out the window at the brilliant, tranquil night sky, then slowly closed his eyes and soon entered meditation.
The next morning.
The sun had just peeked over the ridge. Sunlight filtered through the forest's thick mist and fell upon the land, refracting halfway down into a brilliant array of colors.
Early that morning, Sephiria came to train with him. Lately, she had been particularly eager to spar with him, since it helped her adapt more quickly to her new fighting style. When they finished, Sephiria said, "Hertz and his wife, Ashita, will be returning to Planet Frie soon."
Roland sat beside Sephiria. "Once Hertz gets back, I want to go out and get some experience."
"No problem. Saiyans grow through experience. But I'm going with you. I haven't had a real fight in over a year, and my body's practically rusting."
Roland glanced at Sephiria and smiled. "Sure!"
The siblings smiled at each other and decided then and there to leave Planet Frie and venture out once Hertz returned.
With his current power level of 3,600, Roland was no weakling in the universe. On an ordinary planet, he could even make himself king and rule over everyone.
That was simply the way the universe was. But it didn't mean he could rest easy and wander around as recklessly as he pleased.
As Roland saw it, the Dragon Ball world was filled with experts. It might not be a place where gods were everywhere, but there was no denying that powerful fighters were as common as dogs. The gulf between the strong and the weak was unimaginably vast. Fragile people like Earthlings had single-digit power levels and could hardly ever develop great strength in their lifetimes, while the powerful had power levels measured in the tens of millions and could shake the universe with a single movement.
Although life-forms with low power levels made up the overwhelming majority of the universe, one thing was certain: any of those top-tier fighters could suddenly emerge from some unpredictable corner of the cosmos. One careless move, and they could give an arrogant fool a proper taste of despair.
If Roland was going to venture out into the universe, traveling with Sephiria would be the safest option.
"Whoosh!" "Whoosh!" "Whoosh!"...
A series of sharp sounds tore through the air. A deafening rumble suddenly shook the sky as a dark shadow swept down, passed over the forest, and landed in an open area.
Once the spaceship had settled, two people disembarked: Hertz and his wife, Ashita.
Ashita was a pretty Saiyan woman with a brown tail wrapped around her waist. As a non-combatant, her power level had yet to break 1,000. Her strength was about the same as Goku's mother, Gine.
"Roland, Sephiria, I'm back!" Hertz's hearty laughter brimmed with confidence.
"I can't believe you actually managed to borrow the Dragon Balls from the Namekians. I thought something had happened to you and we'd have to use them to bring you back to life," Roland joked.
Hertz sighed. "The Namekians are a peaceful people, and the Grand Elder is a wise old man."
There was a Namekian beside the Grand Elder who was stronger than Hertz. If the Grand Elder hadn't given him permission, he wouldn't have had a chance to use the Dragon Balls.
"Congratulations on being reunited."
Roland and Sephiria warmly welcomed them. Ashita was also sizing up the siblings. She had heard that she owed her resurrection to the information they had provided.
When she spotted Sephiria, Ashita gave her a small nod. She had met her husband's teammate long ago. But when she noticed Roland, she still paused in surprise. "He's so young—only six this year. I heard his power level is already over 3,000."
"Welcome." Roland floated up until he was at Ashita's eye level.
"Hello. If it weren't for you, my husband and I would never have been reunited." Ashita thanked him politely.
"It was nothing."
"All right, everyone, come and eat. This planet has plenty of food," Sephiria said, beckoning them over.
The four of them began eating and chatting. During the meal, Roland brought up his plan to go out and gain experience with Sephiria. Hertz naturally approved, then shared what he knew about the various circumstances throughout the universe.
"By the way, Hertz, we've been keeping an eye on the Saiyans on Planet Kasha for a while. After Sephiria and I leave, keep watching them with Ashita. If you're sure they're no threat, teach them the training methods, starting with the basics."
Hertz listened, his expression composed. "Don't worry. I'll keep an eye on things."
Hertz had also been given knowledge of Earth's martial arts. Having learned how profound and mysterious they were, he understood that he needed to be even more careful in handling this.
This could be a key step in the Saiyans' rise. Combine Earth's profound martial arts with the Saiyans' fighting Bloodline, then add training in the Gravity Chamber, and even low-class warriors could grow beyond their physical limits.
I've finally reached 100,000 words! I've submitted an application for a publishing contract. I hope it gets accepted!
