A Pleasing Battle

"Impressive. You actually found me that quickly."

Goku steadied himself in the void, frowned, and tore away the tattered upper half of his martial arts uniform.

"Your energy shines like the sun to my eyes," Vegito said.

"Now that's a problem!"

Goku fell silent for a moment, his boiling aura blazing fiercely. The energy of a Super Saiyan could not be contained, and that left him deeply troubled. He closed his eyes and thought for a while, then suddenly opened them. A bright gleam filled his eyes as he shouted to Vegito, full of fighting spirit:

"You should know every move I have. Come at me!"

"Good!"

Their techniques were almost identical, and skill no longer had much effect.

Under these circumstances, the battle became especially difficult. On top of that, the Super Saiyan 3 state tested stamina to an extreme degree. At this point, all Goku could do was stake everything on one fight.

But to Goku, victory or defeat was not important. He was a pure martial artist, and what he enjoyed was the thrill of battle itself.

Drawing experience from failure was something he had always done.

Vegito seemed to see what Goku was thinking as well. A trace of approval appeared on his face. He clenched his fist, and the instant he loosened it, Vegito's speed abruptly accelerated to the limit.

With a swish, he pierced through the void, and the distance between them rapidly shrank.

At this point, the concept of space no longer existed in their eyes. The two of them constantly incorporated Instant Transmission into their battle, vanishing swiftly after every clash and leaving behind trails of exploding energy and energy spheres that spread endlessly, radiating scorching, dazzling light like great suns.
