Battle with an Angel

"When I was in Universe 7, I fought Whis before. I couldn't last more than a few moves," Roland answered after a moment's surprise.

"Ultra Instinct is a combat technique. It can only be comprehended in battle. If you want to grasp the Ultimate State, you need to keep digging for it through real combat."

Marcarita glanced at Roland and led him deep into the center of the Small World. A floating island as massive as a mountain range appeared before his eyes. Rippling water shimmered beneath the island, giving the impression that sea and sky had blended into one. Birds sang and flowers bloomed on the island, clear springs murmured, and at the very center was a small bubbling spring.

After they landed on the island, a luxurious cluster of buildings came into view. Clouds surrounded the structures, leaving only the eaves faintly visible. Pale-red glazed tiles covered the roofs, reflecting a crystalline shine.

Marcarita pointed at the cluster of buildings and said, "Pick any one to be your residence."

Roland did not stand on ceremony and immediately chose a building on the left.

Marcarita's buildings stood row upon row like a Royal Palace, and there were probably over a thousand rooms. Did an angel like her really need that many rooms? But then again, she even had a Small World, so having a cluster of buildings did not really amount to much.
