Background

Five-Meridian Inheritance

The Five Elements Sect inherited the lineage of True Monarch Yi Yuan. Its five meridians preserved cultivation arts of the five elements, while the Earth Meridian held the orthodox method of the Primordial Dao Fruit. 96 807

Following the death of its Primordial Ancestor, disputes over the Primordial Dao Fruit and its cultivation resources caused the five meridians to fracture. The Gold and Wood inheritances became Golden Light Cliff and Divine Wood Sect, while the remaining three meridians retained the Five Elements Sect name. The resulting conflict lasted twenty years before the factions accepted a ceasefire. 60 95 440 521

The truce acknowledged Divine Wood Sect's independence but required it to provide three Golden Jade Ganoderma whenever Giant Wood Ridge's crop matured. 95

Reunification

Zhou Ye's possession of the Primordial Dao Fruit and his efforts to cultivate it remained a central obstacle to reunification. When the major figures of the separated lineages reached an agreement, Zhou Ye issued a self-criticism edict and recognized Zhou Shengqing as the proper inheritor of the Five Elements Orthodoxy. Sect master Chunyu Su then opened Primordial Immortal City's gates to the incoming forces. 697

After reunification, Chen Mobai and Zhou Shengqing chose to retain the prestigious Five Elements Sect name rather than continue using Divine Wood Sect outwardly. The name carried the legacy of a former Nascent Soul great sect known beyond the Eastern Wasteland. 710

Rise Under Chen Mobai

Under Chen Mobai's leadership, the sect expanded its pill production, military formations, academies, teleportation network, and cultivation infrastructure.
