Lin Du defeated Spirit Hall’s leadership, became Pope, and pursued power while Tang San trained, entered Slaughter City, and sought recognition from the Clear Sky Sect. The volume leaves Tang San with three difficult tasks and Dugu Yan named the Sea God’s successor after arriving on Sea God Island.

  • Dugu Yan led World Creation Mountain Academy to victory over Spirit Hall, while Lin Du challenged Bibi Dong and left their fight unresolved after Eternal Scar and Black Mist disrupted the battle.

Arc 17World Creation Mountain’s Triumph

Dugu Yan led World Creation Mountain Academy to defeat Spirit Hall and win the tournament, while Xiao Wu’s identity was exposed and Lin Du challenged Bibi Dong for the Pope’s seat. Lin Du gained the upper hand in their battle, but Bibi Dong’s Eternal Scar and a spreading Black Mist left the conflict unresolved.

  • Bibi Dong announced that the tournament’s winner would receive three Spirit Bones, and Yu Xiaogang arranged for Shrek to forfeit its first match and enter the losers’ bracket final.
  • Dugu Yan defeated Yan and revealed that she was a Spirit Emperor, then Shrek lost to Spirit Hall after Tang San’s Seven-in-One formation was broken.
  • Dugu Yan and World Creation Mountain Academy defeated Spirit Hall in the championship match, and Zhu Zhuqing accepted the champion’s Spirit Bones.

Arc 18The Dragon Kings’ Ring

Lin Du became Pope, gained the Ice and Fire Dragon Kings’ power, and fought Di Tian before returning to Spirit Hall. Meanwhile, Tang Hao restored Tang San’s arm and put him through increasingly difficult training, leaving him to pursue the Spirit Emperor realm before seeking another Spirit Ring.

  • The Rakshasa God took Bibi Dong, and Qian Daoliu named Lin Du the new Pope, and Lin Du forced the Shrek group to kneel, crippled Tang San’s knees, and severed his right arm when Tang Hao fled with him.
  • Lin Du redirected Spirit Hall allowances from abusive Spirit Masters toward interest-free loans for the poor, while Qian Renxue persuaded Xue Ye to move closer to Spirit Hall.
  • Lin Du distributed Bibi Dong’s Spirit Bones to Dugu Yan and Zhu Zhuqing, and Tang Hao took Tang San away to recover and train.
  • The Blue Silver King restored Tang San’s right arm and revealed his Blue Silver Emperor bloodline, after which Tang Hao sealed his Soul Power and made him practice the Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer beneath a waterfall.

Arc 19The Road Through Slaughter City

Tang San learned the truth of Ah Yin’s death and the loss of her Soul Bone, then entered Slaughter City to temper himself and complete the Hell Road. He emerged with Divine Slaughter’s Domain and traveled with Tang Hao toward Heaven Dou City.

  • Tang Hao ended Tang San’s waterfall training, revealed Ah Yin’s Blue Silver Grass form, and recounted how she sacrificed herself to save him and Tang San.
  • Tang San learned that Lin Du and Dugu Yan had taken Ah Yin’s Right Leg Bone, then hunted Spirit Rings with Tang Hao before heading to Slaughter City.
  • Tang San entered Slaughter City, defeated Terror Knight Scott, and learned he would need one hundred arena victories and the Hell Road to leave as a Slaughter God.

Arc 20The Sea God’s Successor

Tang San sought Ancestral Recognition at the Clear Sky Sect, winning a draw against the Seventh Elder but accepting three demanding tasks. Lin Du guided Dugu Yan and their companions to Sea God Island, where Dugu Yan was named the Sea God’s successor and the group began their trials.

  • Tang San completed a year of etiquette and music training under Tang Yuehua, then traveled to the Clear Sky Sect to seek Ancestral Recognition.
  • Tang Xiao welcomed Tang San, but the Elders opposed his recognition until Tang San defeated Tang Hu and challenged the Seventh Elder.
  • Tang San fought the Seventh Elder on the Iron Chain Bridge, and the Second Elder declared their battle a draw after Tang San survived and destroyed one of the Elder’s hammers.
  • The Second Elder agreed to let Tang Hao return if Tang San reached Level 80, defeated Lin Du, brought back a Spirit Hall Title Douluo’s head, and obtained a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring within ten years.
  • Dugu Yan absorbed an Inner Core that evolved her Martial Soul, and Lin Du took her, Zhu Zhuqing, Ning Rongrong, and Yan Shuangshuang to Vast Sea City before leading them to Sea God Island.
