Conflict Before the Entrance Assessment

Wang Hao first confronts Lin Fan at the academy recruitment announcement, deriding slum residents and claiming that only those with resources deserve to practice martial arts 8. He continues to provoke Lin Fan during registration, attempts to force him to kneel publicly, and threatens to arrange “special treatment” in the combat test 9.

Before the formal assessment, Wang Hao has men watch Lin Fan’s residence and personally ambushes him with two Wang Family guards who are 2nd Grade Martial Artists. Lin Fan escapes through the Slum District, after which Wang Hao orders his men to find Lin Xiaoyu 13 20.

Academy Assessment Sabotage

Wang Hao performs strongly in the first two assessment rounds, obtaining 981 jin in strength and completing the Gale Formation in 11.3 seconds 22 23. However, his resentment intensifies after Lin Fan surpasses him.

Using his family’s influence, Wang Hao is connected to the manipulation of Lin Fan’s combat test. Lin Fan is placed against an illegally enhanced Blood Copper Puppet—far above the stated Rank 2 early-stage standard—with the intention of crippling him 13 24. Lin Fan destroys the puppet’s core formation and survives, exposing the scheme’s consequences to the academy 24 25.

Freshman Competition Final

Wang Hao enters the Regular Class Freshman Competition and reaches the final by exploiting the Golden Scale Armor’s defense against Sun Hu’s dual halberds 38. He meets Lin Fan in the championship match, expecting his superior weapon, armor, cultivation, and family-backed training to decide the outcome 39.

Lin Fan abandons his wooden sword, withstands Wang Hao’s sword attacks with the Iron Body Skill, and defeats him with a single Basic Fist Technique punch.
