Only after handling this matter did Benjamin truly relax.
He leaned back in a comfortable chair and began browsing the Magic Network Terminal in the laboratory, reviewing all kinds of information that had accumulated over the past fifty years.

The most conspicuous messages were mainly from his two friends—Amy and Victor.
Their messages were much the same. Each of them had left two.
The first messages had been sent roughly more than forty years ago.

So they could only helplessly leave him a message, asking him to visit them for a gathering once he returned.
The other messages came four or five years after the first.
After waiting for several years and seeing no sign of Benjamin's return, the two of them left another message saying they had decided to embark on another round of military service missions.
Victor's message was phrased somewhat more tactfully.
He merely told Benjamin that once they completed this new round of military service, they would essentially have fully completed the lengthy military service contract they had signed with the Academy
