Chapter 305: Treasure Vault
Benjamin hovered above the cave entrance, the perception of the Eye of Investigation spreading downward.
At the same time, he activated Alchemy, his mental power probing downward along the metal wall beside him like feelers.
The feedback from the investigative spell appeared clearly in Benjamin's mind: below was not merely a passage, but a vast underground space.
Its structural layout vaguely suggested that it had once been some sort of commercial establishment, but it had now become a battlefield.
Three gray-robed wizards were backed against a broken metal support pillar, struggling to hold on. The spell-light around them flickered unsteadily, showing that they had expended an enormous amount of energy.
Their opponents were dozens of Natives from the Giant Spirit Realm, each with a different form.
Most of these natives possessed semi-fluid, slime-like base forms fused with all manner of mechanical components. They wielded energy weapons or cast innate spell-like abilities.
The most eye-catching among them were four especially massive elite individuals, whose energy fluctuations had clearly reached Level 4.
Like minor commanders on the battlefield, they directed the other low-level natives in their relentless siege.
Three Level 3 Wizards facing four Level 4 elites along with a horde of lesser troops had little chance of victory.
Benjamin's undisguised sweep of mental power was immediately detected by the wizards struggling below.
"Friend above! Help us deal with these enemies, and we'll split the spoils found here equally!" The leading Level 3 Wizard sent out a plea through mental power without hesitation, his voice filled with obvious urgency.
