The enemy forces pouring out were no longer limited to ordinary warships and escort mechs. There were also even larger, colossal war machines, like mobile fortresses.
Each was larger than a small plane, its surface densely packed with countless dark gun muzzles. Their mere presence made the surrounding fabric of space groan under the strain.
One fortress machine had barely completed its jump when its main gun array finished charging, its dark muzzles aimed at Wizard Noren.
Wizard Noren merely glanced up at it.
Boom...
Spiderweb cracks appeared across the fortress's surface, spreading from its gun muzzles all the way to its core compartments.
Then the entire fortress collapsed inward and turned into a cloud of debris, without even managing to release the energy in its main guns.
Before Wizard Noren and Grand Mentor Anton, these colossal machines remained utterly meaningless.
"Master, all enemy units attempting to approach the Singularity Altar have been eliminated." A somewhat mechanical voice suddenly rang out. Benjamin looked toward it and saw that a dozen or so oddly shaped puppets had appeared beside Wizard Noren at some point.
These puppets resembled ordinary wizard puppets, but their auras were completely different. Every one of them gave Benjamin a sense of danger. He could see scorch marks and broken edges left by battle on several of them.
Behind them floated dozens of battered mechanical wrecks.
Clearly, the moment Wizard Noren appeared, he had already dispatched his own cannon fodder to protect the Mechanical Altar.
Wizard Noren raised a hand and casually stripped a special robot captured on the battlefield of its ability to resist. After looking it over, he tossed it toward Benjamin. "Little Benjamin, consider this your reward. The technology in this thing looks quite good. You can study it."
Benjamin froze for a moment, then
