"Thank you for your hard work." His gaze settled on Benjamin and the four members of the investigation team before he nodded in satisfaction. "You did an excellent job on this mission. The Workshop will record the wonder's origins, the data from its perimeter, and the subsequent analytical findings. Your reward is ten billion advanced military merit each. It will be deposited directly into your accounts shortly."
Their eyes lit up at once.

That was anything but a small sum.
In the Noren Workshop, many Level 7 Wizards might toil for thousands of years without accumulating such an enormous amount of military merit.
Edgar even let out a whistle, while Tori chuckled and rubbed his hands together.
"Lord Noren certainly is generous."
Wizard Noren smiled without replying, then seemed to remember something.
"Oh, and if you need replacement Substitute Dolls, come see me. As for the price..." He considered briefly. "Given how dangerous this mission was, I'll give you forty percent off, and move your orders up the queue."
At those words, the four Level 7 Wizards' gazes instantly grew eager.
They had just died once. No one understood better than they did how important a Substitute Doll really was.
It did feel a little like having their pay clawed back, but no matter how they looked at it, these things were necessities.
Forty percent off, plus priority in the queue—none of them could refuse an offer like that.
Benjamin laughed as well. "I'd like to reserve one too!"
He still had the Substitute Doll he had prepared last time; it had not been used up yet.
