Benjamin and Jack arrived at the metal door at the end of the corridor.
The door's surface was smooth and unmarked, save for a groove running across its entire width.
Benjamin reached out, probing inside the door with his mental power and swiftly navigating its complex security protocols.
With his current processing power and the assistance of the Five-Skandha Rainbow Mirror, cracking encryption of this level would take only a few minutes.
The rune circuits inside the door rearranged themselves. A surge of energy flowed from Benjamin's palm into the groove, powering the metal door as it slid open to either side.
Beyond the door lay several enormous laboratories.
The space was so vast that it resembled several hollowed-out skyscrapers stacked together. All four walls were lined with equipment racks and storage compartments of every kind.
But most of the racks were empty, and the storage compartments stood open, their contents long since removed.
Bits of debris and discarded documents littered the floor. Several metal tables leaned haphazardly against one another, traces of experimental vessels still visible on their surfaces.
"They were in a hurry when they evacuated." Benjamin looked around, his gaze sweeping over the empty racks and open compartments. "But they took everything important."
He walked over to a metal table, where a sealed safe sat without any power supply.
Its lid was half-open, with several paper documents scattered inside.
He reached in, took out the documents, and quickly scanned them.
They contained only disorganized data, with no complete research records.
It seemed that everything important really had been taken away.
Benjamin did not linger.
He walked to a corner of the laboratory, where a teleportation device stood in the form of a circular platform two meters across.
He pressed his hand against the edge of the platform
