October Summary and Book Recommendation

October was mainly devoted to the Mewtwo arc. The purpose was to use Mewtwo to introduce a larger worldbuilding framework, then, through the battle against Mewtwo, firmly establish Fang Yuan as the Strongest Trainer in Earth's spacetime and move the novel into its later stages.

At first, whether or not Fang Yuan should catch Mewtwo, and whether or not he should defeat Mewtwo, was what I struggled with most. That was why I got stuck for so long. In the end, I figured it out: just write whatever feels satisfying. Having him die once to move Mewtwo like Ash did—setting aside whether I even have the skill to write that—not only wouldn't be satisfying for me to write, but readers might not necessarily be moved by it either.

Most importantly, I've got a thing for Mewtwo's body. Mewtwo is just too damn appealing!

The response to that arc should have been passable, I guess. The follow-up subscriptions were great, and the growth was decent. The process was just agonizing.

Ahem. I wrote nearly 160,000 words in October, averaging a little over 5,000 words a day. That was a bit lackluster, but I already did my best. Next month should bring a brand-new arc, brand-new mechanics, and a brand-new dungeon. Hopefully it'll be easier to write? ▽? Balding.

As usual, I'd also like to ask for guaranteed monthly pass votes at the beginning of next month. There are only two months left, so the monthly pass rankings can't be too terrible. Staying in the top fifty would be enough. (??ˇ?ˇ?) Please.

Lastly, I'd like to recommend a friend's book, I Really Never Wanted to Be a Trainer. It's very good!
