Arc 5The Exchange Tournament

Fang Yuan trained Eevee and Magnemite, led Peaceful City First High School through an exchange tournament, and earned approval to catch Magnemite as his second Pokémon. After improving their Energy Cube recipe, he set out for the Imperial Capital to train during winter break.

  • Fang Yuan struggled to make Energy Cubes until Eevee showed him how Berry energy gathered in the mixer, but Magnemite could not yet extract it cleanly.
  • Fang Yuan led his team to victory in the Team Battle Assessment, and Yang Han later gave him medicinal cream for Eevee’s tail and promised to help with Shadow Ball.
  • Eevee used Substitute to draw Beedrill away during a venom-gathering mission, while Xu Qingmu read Fang Yuan’s paper about Eevee’s Anticipation and sent Wen Siyu to meet him.

Arc 6Eevee’s Evolution and a Hidden Threat

Fang Yuan toured universities, trained Magnemite and Eevee, and explored Eevee’s possible evolution and new moves while visiting researchers and challenging Trainers. The arc ended with Doctor Chen drugging Eevee, revealing Professor Xu Qingmu’s death, and confronting Fang Yuan with a Zoroark as someone rang the doorbell.

  • Fang Yuan toured Renmin University and Didu University, where Magnemite learned Reflect and Light Screen in the Gravity Room and later learned Thunderbolt through specialized training.
  • Fang Yuan brought Eevee and Magnemite into Magic University’s Haunted House, where Eevee learned Shadow Ball from Misdreavus and Gengar began training it to stabilize the move.
  • Fang Yuan returned home for the holiday, found a Feebas that ate his Light Blue Energy Cube, and then traveled to Jinling after news broke that Dr. Chen Shengcong had conducted forbidden experiments and fled.

Arc 7The Rookie Championship

Fang Yuan and Eevee recovered from Chen Shengcong’s experiments, then led Peaceful City First High School through the provincial tournament. After Jiang Ran’s team eliminated them from the Team Battle, Fang Yuan advanced to the Individual Battle final against Jiang Ran, determined to win with Eevee.

  • Xie Qingyi rescued Fang Yuan and Eevee from Chen Shengcong’s laboratory, where Eevee suppressed the Red and Green Drug’s effects and gained altered genes and greatly increased Psychic Power.
  • After two months of hospital observation, Eevee learned Focus Blast and used Help Move through Substitute to stabilize Spiral Shadow Ball, then demonstrated the attack against Yang Han’s Charizard.
  • Fang Yuan became captain of Peaceful City First High School’s team and led it to the provincial competition, where Eevee and Magnemite won battles against rival schools.

  • Fang Yuan defeated Jiang Ran to win the Individual Battle championship, and Zhuang Xin told him he would enter the Spirit World with other top Rookie Trainers.
