Bai Haizhou had been standing above the temple the whole time. His brow was furrowed. So much time had passed, yet there was still no news.
To his surprise, Bai Wuchen had made no move either.
"Could he not have found it?"
His brow creased. He didn't believe they hadn't found it. If five Transcendent Realm experts couldn't handle such a simple task, they might as well be dead.
Suddenly, he felt uneasy, as though something was about to happen. After waiting a while longer, Bai Haizhou could no longer sit still. He was about to go and see for himself.
Just then, his communication Jade Talisman vibrated. He hurriedly picked it up, and Bai Haizhou's face changed dramatically.
"How is this possible? The Mechanical Empire has suddenly attacked more than a dozen temples. They're under attack!"
"Damn it!"
Bai Haizhou couldn't stay here watching Bai Wuchen any longer. The temples were vital. If those temples were destroyed, it would affect Tianli Sect's plans going forward. He could not let the Mechanical Empire succeed.
He flashed into the temple, where its manager immediately came to meet him.
"True Person, are you heading back?"
"Be on your guard. Watch out for another attack on the temple by the Mechanical Empire!" Without another word, he took out a token, stepped into the teleportation array, and vanished.
He figured that, since this place had just been attacked, the Mechanical Empire would probably strike here again.
"Wait... The Mechanical Empire might attack us again?"
Watching Bai Haizhou disappear, the temple manager looked puzzled.
"Impossible. Our temple was just attacked, and we've strengthened its defenses. It won't be so easy to break through again!" said a man beside the manager, pretending not to care that the Heavenly Human Realm expert was gone.
