Flying Class (Part Two)

Flying was probably every human being's dream.

Vaughn, who had not been particularly enthusiastic at first, still cheered aloud when he truly mounted a broomstick and soared into the sky.

The exhilaration of leaving everything on the ground behind, slicing through the air, robes snapping in the wind, seemed enough to make one forget all their troubles.

After asking Madam Hooch for permission, Vaughn and Harry flew around the Quidditch Pitch for a while.

By the time they returned, Ron, Malfoy, and the others had also successfully taken off.

A few Young Wizards remained on the ground.

Neville was among them.

Madam Hooch had been guiding him on the proper posture and how to hold the broomstick, but Neville could never remember. The Memory Orb hanging from his chest flashed like a stage lamp.

Malfoy and his cronies laughed loudly at him.

Ron and Seamus were confronting them while Harry hurriedly flew over.

Just then, Neville, who had barely risen into the air, seemed to forget something again. His face suddenly turned pale, and his entire body wobbled as he fell.

Madam Hooch, who had been prepared, had just drawn her Wand when two spells from above struck Neville.

"Impediment Jinx!"

"Leviosa!"

Neville was fixed five feet above the ground, his limbs spread wide.

Snot and tears flung out by inertia smeared his face, but at least he had not fallen straight to the ground.

"Well done, Mr. Vaughn Weasley. Five points to Slytherin!"

Madam Hooch let out a breath of relief and hurriedly lifted the spells to lower Neville. The chubby boy was already terrified out of his wits.

Worried about his mental state, Madam Hooch hurriedly gave a few instructions before taking Neville to Madam Pomfrey. As Madam Hooch left, Malfoy became even more brazen. He rode circles around Harry on his broomstick, loudly mocking him as he did so:

"Potter, did you see Longbottom? Boo-hoo-hoo, Mummy, I'm so scared... Oh, sorry, I forgot. Longbottom doesn't have parents!"

Those words completely enraged Harry.

Even Vaughn was amazed by Malfoy's talent for courting death.

How did that brain of his manage to spit out such vicious words without a single thought?

Harry rammed Malfoy hard, while Ron shouted encouragement from the side.

The two had long wanted to fight Malfoy.

Now they were in the air, with no professor around, and Crabbe and Goyle, those two little Trolls, were huddled on their broomsticks like quails.

The timing could not have been better!

Malfoy seemed to realize his unfavorable situation as well and fled in a panic. One after the other, the two flew toward Hogwarts Castle.

"Harry! Harry!" Hermione cried anxiously. She shot Ron a fierce glare, then begged Vaughn, "Vaughn, please go catch them! If the professors see them, Gryffindor's and Slytherin's points will both be ruined."

Vaughn had already wanted to go over and watch the show. Hearing this, he nodded and gave chase.

By the time Vaughn arrived, Harry and Malfoy had already circled the tops of Hogwarts's towering spires, weaving around them like butterflies among flowers.

Even at a time like this, Malfoy refused to yield to Harry. "Come and catch me, Potter! Didn't you eat?"

"You and Longbottom must be close. After all, neither of you has parents!"

Vaughn sighed. Honestly, in that instant, he wanted to cast a Jinx on Malfoy. That mouth was far too poisonous.

Sure enough, Harry let out a roar.

No longer holding back, he suddenly accelerated and knocked Malfoy straight off his broomstick.

But he regretted it at once. He was furious, but he had never intended to kill Malfoy.

Harry hurriedly turned around, caught up to Malfoy, and caught him.

The poor old school broomstick was forced to bear a weight it was never meant to carry.

With a puff, it spewed out a cloud of black smoke and plummeted toward the ground.

Just as the two screamed and were about to hit the ground from a height of roughly ten feet,

Vaughn, pursuing from behind, and someone in an open window of the tower ahead cast spells at the same time:

"Impediment Jinx!"

"Cushioning Charm!"

The two clung tightly to each other, frozen in midair.

Vaughn quickly waved his Wand and cast another Levitation Charm, floating them toward the open window. Then he stopped his broomstick and bowed to the figure visible behind the window.

"Good afternoon, Professor McGonagall!"

Professor McGonagall's face had turned green. Her stern, imposing expression looked as though she wanted to eat someone alive. "It is not good at all, Mr. Vaughn Weasley. If you had not arrived when you did, if this had not happened near my office..."

The hand gripping her Wand trembled as she took deep breaths.

"These two foolish children would likely have had to stay with Madam Pomfrey for a month!"

"Merlin, in all my years, this is the first time I have seen conduct this atrocious! Two First Year students, disregarding classroom discipline and fighting on Flying Broomsticks."

"And they nearly caused a serious accident!"

As she spoke, she shot an angry glare at Harry and Malfoy, who had landed at her feet and were still clinging to each other due to the spells' effects.

Then she said to Vaughn, "Mr. Weasley, although you also failed to observe classroom discipline, your actions deserve twenty points for Slytherin."

"Now, return and continue the class. Also, inform Madam Hooch of the full details."

"Yes, Professor."

Vaughn nudged his broomstick and flew away. Even from far off, he could still hear Professor McGonagall's furious roar.

This was the first time he had ever seen Professor McGonagall so angry.

This was far more exciting than the original story. I wonder whether Professor McGonagall will still let Harry join the Quidditch team...

Vaughn had never intended to interfere with Harry's Destiny. He preferred to act from his own perspective and let things take their natural course.

For instance, he had saved Neville today and kept him from getting hurt because he had a good impression of Neville.

On the other hand, conflict between Harry and Malfoy was inevitable. The two were naturally at odds, and even Vaughn had not expected Malfoy's foul mouth to be this bad.

Unless he was willing to babysit Harry and suppress Malfoy every day, their conflict was bound to erupt sooner or later!

Back at the Quidditch Pitch, Vaughn shook his head at the anxious Hermione.

He told them what had happened.

Hermione's face immediately went pale.

After asking whether Harry had been hurt, she began trembling all over. "I! Knew! It! They were bound to cause trouble!"

Ron was frightened too and hurriedly moved closer to Vaughn. "Harry... Harry won't be expelled, will he?"

Hermione snapped, "Now you know to be afraid? Then why did you egg him on before? Just wait and see. Even if he isn't expelled, Gryffindor's House points are finished!"

For once, Ron did not dare argue with her.

When Flying Class ended, the two dragged Vaughn to look at the House Hourglass.

They saw that Gryffindor had lost sixty points and Slytherin forty, though Vaughn had also gained twenty points.

The reason was that although Malfoy had provoked Harry, he had not attacked first. It was Harry who had made an inappropriate move and nearly caused an accident.

In an instant, the gap had widened by another forty points. Hermione was practically despairing!

Later, Harry was finally released by Professor McGonagall, bringing the good news that she had permitted him to join Quidditch.

But Hermione did not want to hear it, and Harry was not happy either, because there was another piece of bad news—

He and Malfoy were going to serve Detention together!
