Orion thought of all the oddities from when Regulus was little—his magic awakening at ten months, his ability to speak in complete sentences at one year old, and his understanding of magic far surpassing that of his peers.
Reason told him that what his son had said might be true.
"What exactly are you capable of now?" Orion asked.
Regulus did not answer directly. He only said, "If Father wants to know, why not test it yourself?"
A strange glint flashed through Orion's eyes. He stood. "Come with me."
At the far end of the study, a seemingly ordinary Black family Portrait hung on the wall. Orion stepped forward and lightly tapped the Sirius pattern in the lower right corner of the Portrait with his Wand.
The Portrait slowly slid to one side, revealing a hidden stone door. Complex magical Runes were carved into the door. Orion recited an incantation, and the Runes lit up red as the stone door slowly opened.
Inside was the Black family Training Room. The space was broad, and the floor was paved with hard black stone.
The surrounding walls were inlaid with Runes for magical Protective Charms, and various training targets and props were piled in the corners.
He had come here a few times when he was young, but he had been too little then, and Orion had not allowed him to undergo high-intensity training here.
"Don't hold back." Orion walked to the center of the Training Room and drew his Wand, his dark green robe spreading behind him. "Treat it like a real wizard duel."
Regulus also drew his Wand, his fingertips gripping the familiar wooden grain. The Four-Star Model quietly began operating in his consciousness, magic flowing steadily along the Star Orbit paths and spreading through every part of his body.
