Feeling So Weak

After answering questions from a reporter from the People's Daily Newspaper Office, Shen Qi gave interviews to several other media outlets, both domestic and international.

One outlet asked, "Professor Shen, in your report just now, you said that research into Macrocyclic Compounds had led to practical applications: the synthesis of a new class of Macrocyclic Compounds called Triazatrisiloxanes. We checked the CFDA's official announcements and found that Triazatrisiloxanes had been approved to enter a Phase I Clinical Trial."

Shen Qi said, "That's right."

The reporter continued, "We also learned that your wife is participating in the Phase I Clinical Trial of Triazatrisiloxanes as a subject. Is that true?"

Shen Qi said, "That's right."

A buzz swept through the room.

"Oh!"

"Huh?"

"What?"

The reporters at the scene reacted in all sorts of ways.

Soon, news reports about it began appearing online.

"On the second day of the IUPAC World Chemistry Congress, Academician Shen Qi publicly presented the latest progress on his research, 'Macrocyclic Compounds, Novel Rearrangement Reactions, and the Applications of Related Chemical Drugs,' drawing an enthusiastic response."

"According to chemists from China and abroad, the Shen Qi Team's research could win this year's Nobel Chemistry Prize."

"The practical product of 'Macrocyclic Compounds, Novel Rearrangement Reactions, and the Applications of Related Chemical Drugs' is a chemical drug called Triazatrisiloxanes. The drug has now entered a Phase I Clinical Trial in China, with Shen Qi's wife participating as a subject."

The media coverage was fairly objective, reporting the facts as they were.
