Lin Taichu tucked the notebook given to him by the logistics staff into his robes and left the arena with Aron and Alicia.
On the way, his mind was full of his match with Marcus and the Karen he would have to face next.
When he fought Marcus, he had clearly felt that the Short Blade in his hand could barely keep up with the pace. Especially when he blocked Marcus's twin axes at close range, the blade's length and durability had both proven inadequate, and several times it had nearly been knocked from his hand.
Back at Aron's residence, Lin Taichu took out the Short Blade, placed it on the table, and examined it over and over.
He had bought this Short Blade at a market in Atlantis before. Its material was ordinary, and its blade was only as long as his forearm. At the time, he had merely thought it was easy to carry and sufficient for ordinary situations.
But now, he was facing experts from the arena. This blade was becoming increasingly inadequate.
Alicia saw him staring blankly at the Short Blade and came over. "Taichu, what's wrong? Is there something wrong with this blade?"
Lin Taichu nodded. "When I fought Marcus, his twin axes nearly knocked it out of my hand. And it's too short. If I want to stab him, I have to get extremely close. The risk is too great."
"Next, I'll be fighting Karen. He uses a spear and attacks from mid-range. This Short Blade will be even harder to use effectively."
Aron also leaned over to inspect the Short Blade. "That's true. The material is mediocre. It's fine for dealing with ordinary Guards, but against arena experts, it really isn't enough. You need a weapon that suits you better."
Lin Taichu frowned.
