"However, Atlantis does have an ancient weapon left behind from antiquity. Perhaps you can use it."
Lin Taichu's eyes lit up. "A weapon from antiquity? What kind of weapon is it?"
"It is Sea God Poseidon's Trident," the king said. "Poseidon left this weapon in Atlantis during antiquity. It is immensely powerful, but over the years, no one has been able to approach it."
"Whether merfolk or other races, anyone who got close was repelled by the weapon's power. Some were even injured."
Lin Taichu frowned. "No one can get close? Then how can I use it?"
"Because you are human," the king said. "Atlantis's historical records state that when Poseidon created this weapon, he once said that someday, someone from a race other than Atlantis's would be able to wield it."
"For all these years, we thought it was merely a legend. But after you arrived, I thought that perhaps you are the one who can use it."
Lin Taichu felt both excited and hesitant. "Your Majesty, I'm not sure whether I can approach the trident. What if I'm repelled too?"
"How will you know if you don't try?" the king said. "The trident is now kept in an undersea temple. Only members of the royal family may enter that temple, and I can take you there. If you can approach it, that would be best. If not, there is no loss."
Lin Taichu considered it, then nodded. "All right. I'm willing to try. If I can obtain the trident, it won't just solve my weapon problem. I'll also have more confidence when facing Ollie and the opponents in the arena."
