What Perfect Timing
The building's door was shut, and so were the windows. No lights were on inside. He glanced east again. The place where Su Yao lived was behind that block of disciple rooms to the east, separated by a row of buildings, invisible from the square.
Lin Taichu stood there for a while, then turned and kept walking.
He walked to the stone steps before the Mountain Gate and looked down. The Spirit Bamboo on both sides of the steps swayed gently in the morning breeze, dew dripping from the bamboo leaves and landing on the stone steps with soft tap-tap sounds.
Lin Taichu walked down the steps. He had thought Su Yao would come to see him off.
The thought circled once in his mind before he pressed it down. Whether she came to see him off was her business. He had not told her in advance that he was leaving, so it was only normal if she did not know.
When he reached Dengyun Platform, Lin Taichu took an ordinary iron sword from his Storage Bag and stepped onto it. Spiritual energy poured into the blade, and the iron sword rose from the ground with a hum, flying north.
After flying some distance, he looked back at Qingfeng Mountain.
The mountain was still that mountain, a misty shade of green. The towers and halls atop the peak were half-veiled by morning fog, indistinct and hard to see. Lin Taichu turned back around and sped up.
The journey from Qingyang Sect back to Luofeng City went very smoothly.
After flying for about two hours, the walls of Luofeng City appeared in view. Lin Taichu slowed down, and the iron sword gradually descended, landing in the open space before the city gate.
