Background / History
Mite'er Tengshan leads the Mite'er Family, one of the Jia Ma Empire's three great families and a commercial clan with major influence in Jia Ma City. He is counted among the empire's top ten powerhouses and commands the family’s auction operations and Shadow Guards 53 59.
He recognizes Ya Fei's commercial talent despite her lack of cultivation aptitude. After her successful first assignment managing the Wutan City auction branch, he praises her ability and encourages her to call him “Grandpa Tengshan” outside official business 53.
Meteor Star Auction
When Ya Fei brings a strange meteor star to the family, Tengshan personally investigates it. His full-force Dou King strike is repelled, sending him through an auction-hall wall; he also finds that the object cannot be stored in a Nakai Ring 54.
Unable to identify the object, he seeks appraisal from Alchemist Guild President Fa Ma and Pill King Gu He. Both alchemists sense that the meteor star stimulates their Soul Power and offer a Sixth-grade Dou Spirit Pill for it, prompting Tengshan to withhold the item and investigate its true value further 55 56.
After learning that the Mite'er Family lacks high-grade alchemists capable of using the meteor star, Tengshan elects to auction it. He places Ya Fei in charge of the sale and grants her authority to mobilize the family’s resources, presenting the assignment as both a reward and a test 57.
During the Heavenly Grade Auction, Tengshan welcomes the Jia Ma Imperial Family, Alchemist Guild, and Misty Cloud Sect as host. When Protector Wu attempts to seize the meteor star, Tengshan is the first to intervene, but the Dou Zong easily repels him and injures him 60 61 62.
Hai Bodong’s Return
Hai Bodong secretly returns to the Mite'er Family while his cultivation is sealed. Tengshan detects the intrusion, mobilizes the Shadow Guards, then immediately dismisses them and imposes secrecy once he recognizes the former Ice Emperor 59.
Hai Bodong entrusts Tengshan with the recipe for the sixth-grade Po'e Pill, which can break his seal but requires an alchemist possessing a Heavenly Flame. Tengshan orders Ya Fei to arrange an auction and search for such an alchemist 59.
Association with Ling Xi
After Ling Xi emerges from the meteor star and kills Protector Wu, Tengshan treats him with extreme deference. He asks Ling Xi to refine a sixth-grade pill for the family, offering any price after identifying Ling Xi as a likely alchemist with an Exotic Flame 63 65.
Tengshan supplies three complete sets of ingredients for the Po'e Pill, acknowledging that the materials were exceptionally difficult to obtain. Ling Xi succeeds in refining the pill, which can lift Hai Bodong’s seal but will restore him only to approximately two-star Dou Emperor strength 71 72 73.
Following the Soul Hall’s attack on the Mite'er Auction House, Tengshan and Hai Bodong cooperate with Ling Xi and arrange for Ya Fei to accompany him to Wutan City 73 75.
Abilities & Skills
Dou King Cultivation
Tengshan possesses Dou King-level strength and can manifest Dou Qi wings for flight.
- His full-force strike damaged neither the meteor star nor its protective cocoon; the recoil instead sent him through an auction-hall wall 54.
- He rapidly traveled from the Mite'er Family estate to the Alchemist Guild using Dou Qi wings 54.
- He was unable to contend with Protector Wu, a Soul Hall Dou Zong, and was injured while defending the meteor star 61 62.
Leadership and Security
As the family’s Great Elder, Tengshan directs its personnel, commercial resources, and internal security.
- Commands the Mite'er Family’s Shadow Guards, all of whom possess at least Da Dou Shi strength 59.
- Protects Hai Bodong’s identity by ordering the Shadow Guards to withdraw and forbidding discussion of the encounter 59.
- Entrusts Ya Fei with the meteor star auction and the resources needed to manage it 57.
Commercial Judgment
Tengshan approaches valuable assets with a merchant’s caution.
- Refuses to accept Fa Ma and Gu He’s offers before understanding why they value the meteor star so highly 56.
- Recognizes that retaining a treasure coveted by high-grade alchemists could endanger the Mite'er Family 56 57.
- Chooses a high-profile auction rather than a direct trade, maximizing competition for the meteor star 57.
Relationships
- Ya Fei — Mentor and family elder. He values her business talent, assigns her responsibility for the meteor star auction, and relies on her to handle Ling Xi’s accommodation and requests 53 57 66.
- Hai Bodong — Former Mite'er Family powerhouse whom Tengshan reveres as “Elder Hai.” He keeps Hai Bodong’s sealed condition secret and seeks the Po'e Pill needed to break the seal 59 72.
- Fa Ma — President of the Alchemist Guild. Tengshan asks him to identify the meteor star and later faces his competing bid for it 54 55 57.
- Gu He — Sixth-grade alchemist affiliated with the Misty Cloud Sect. Tengshan is initially wary of Gu He’s factional ties but allows him to inspect the meteor star alongside Fa Ma 55.
- Ling Xi — Powerful alchemist sheltered by the Mite'er Family after the meteor star opens. Tengshan commissions him to refine the Po'e Pill and treats him as someone the family cannot afford to offend 65 66 72.
