Background / History

Harry was raised by his aunt and uncle, who did not understand magic. Before attending Hogwarts, he had unknowingly spoken with a snake at a zoo and assumed the experience was normal. 100

On the Hogwarts Express, Ron identifies Harry as the child credited with defeating Voldemort during the First Wizarding War. Harry is unsettled by the attention and anxious about beginning Hogwarts, but begins studying alongside Ron and Eliana. 6
