Eliana lived at the Hope House Orphanage and had been there for roughly a year when Albus Dumbledore arrived to recruit her for Hogwarts. Mrs. Brown described her as exceptionally diligent: despite initially struggling with dictation, Eliana became the top student in her class within months. She also regularly did extra work to ease the orphanage’s burden. 1
