After some time, Luther finally settled on his own honorific name.
After countless smudges and revisions, three short lines of description remained on the white paper:
[Blood and rage, hatred and fire;
Light of the Desperate, Redemption of the Fallen;
Ruler Above the Phantom Tide, God of Blood and Shadows who commands chaos.]
The first part of the honorific name was a description of his entire being. Blood, rage, hatred, flames... battle after battle, those fierce emotions that had shaped his existence were the strongest and truest imprints upon his soul.
The second part of the honorific name defined his position as a god. In other words, it was about whom he would bestow protection upon. Just as the Eternal Blazing Sun granted its believers fanatical light, and the Lord of Storms spared Sailors at sea from destruction by the waves... After thinking for a long time, Luther finally decided that he would speak for the most downtrodden ordinary people.
Those poor people whose lives had been taken by Plague-ridden creatures, those natives oppressed by colonizers... he had already been doing such things, so it was only fitting that they be reflected in his honorific name.
He had long since resolved that, in order to become the True God of this pathway, he would bear the countless faceless, utterly impoverished people of the entire continent upon his shoulders, carry their rage and resentment, and redeem their Degeneration and despair!
The third part of the honorific name linked himself to the Tide.
He walked above the chaotic Phantom Tide. Though he had only gained control over part of the seawater, it was enough to contend against the authority of the True Creator.
"Looks pretty good."
