In the Red Gloves' lounge on the first underground level, Leonard leaned over and asked in a lowered voice.

"Don't go spreading rumors."

Soest glanced at him. "It wouldn't look good if someone overheard."

"This isn't a rumor."

Leonard had been glared at by his captain, yet instead of restraining himself, he gave a light chuckle. "It's already spread all over outside. They say an incident occurred at Earl Hall's Villa in Empress Borough... I took a look while patrolling earlier. That estate has already been sealed off by the police, the Church of Storm, and the Church of Steam."

Soest's expression turned serious upon hearing that.

Earl Hall had made many contributions to the Goddess Church and maintained good relations with several bishops. He was a key protection target of the Nighthawks; anything concerning his safety was absolutely a major matter.

"There are Nighthawks stationed at the Earl's residence. If something as serious as you described truly happened, a telegram should have been sent long ago to report the situation to us."

Soest said in a deep voice.

"Could it be that the Nighthawks over there already sent the intelligence, but the upper ranks of the Church didn't disclose it because the contents were confidential?"

Leonard smiled. "I asked around a little. Apparently, the guests invited last night are still trapped in the villa for questioning and can't go home."
