"So, do you still remember anything about last night's dream?"
In the hotel room, Luther posed the question to Leonard and Miss Daly.
At his words, both lowered their heads and fell silent for a moment, seemingly trying to recall something.
"I can't remember the details anymore. All that's left is a feeling of great happiness, mixed with a little sadness."
Daly spoke with a wistful look on her face.
"It's much the same for me."
Leonard frowned slightly. "Something's wrong. I'm from the Sleepless Pathway. I only need a short rest each day. And Nightmares have dream-related abilities, too, yet I didn't even realize I was dreaming?"
"It looks like this warrants some investigation."
Luther pondered for a moment. "Aside from that, was there anything else worth noting?"
"I think I heard a voice in my dream."
Daly frowned. "It was calling me over, as though it could make my dream even better..." "I heard it too."
Leonard nodded in agreement.
Calling them over?
Luther thought of the collective dream in the city center, which looked as though ordinary people's dreams had been woven together. Now it seemed that, if not for his intervention, Leonard and Daly might gradually have been drawn in as well, becoming part of that dream.
Then I'd have seen them cheering and jumping for joy among the crowd welcoming the king...
He shook his head, banishing those absurd images from his mind.
"I have a task for you. Go over there right away and check whether anything is wrong with the ordinary people there."
If there was something sinister about that shared dream, perhaps the ordinary Feysac citizens who joined it had already become twisted monsters in secret... Hopefully not.
