The garden within the imperial palace was planted with the empire's precious native flowers-the petals of Blue Ice Flowers gleamed silver-blue in the sunlight, pure white Snow Velvet Clusters resembled frozen frost crystals, and deep purple Polar Irises lent the garden an even greater sense of tranquility.

A winding path led into the garden, with exquisite sculptures dotted along both sides. Deep within, a ring of neatly trimmed evergreen hedges shut out the clamor of the outside world, forming a naturally secluded space.

"Do you find it strange?"

Inside the pavilion, Second Prince Ivan Reis asked, "Ever since you returned to the country, I've never met with you privately. Yet today, I suddenly invited you here for a chat?"

"You're right."

Sophia looked at him with a hint of wariness. "As far as I remember, you've always cared only about what you stand to gain. I'm not worth much to you, so there's no reason to waste your energy on me."
