Background / History

Houtu is one of the Ancestral Witches who founded the Witch lineage. She wields the Earth Order, is revered as the Earth Emperor and Central Mother Ancestor, and guides Witch descendants through faith, inheritances, and Heaven-bestowed Witch Patterns. The Ancestral Witches are regarded as custodians of heaven-and-earth order; their oaths possess binding force in the Nether. 125 147

Among the Witch Court's supreme existences, Houtu and Dijiang Ancestral Witch are recognized as its foremost pillars and the Progenitors of Ten Thousand Witches. Houtu's status and methods are exceptional even among Ancestral Witches: she was able to conceal Luanjiang Ancestral Witch from a universe's origin and enable her to establish a Witch Court Sacred Land there. 510 591

Wu Yuan first encountered Houtu through the Hofeng Tribe's remaining portrait of her. His prayer reached her across countless worlds, resulting in a Heaven-bestowed Witch Pattern of the second grade and inherited Witch cultivation knowledge. 125

During Wu Yuan's battle against the Heavenly Emperor in the Domain of Destruction, Houtu used the life-risking Six Paths of Reincarnation to create his chance of escape.
