• Wang Ping investigated Wufeng Temple and the Single Saber Sect, uncovered the Earth Cave Sect’s human and demon sacrifices, and captured Leng Wu while Hu Qianqian admitted to leaking information.
• Wang Ping helped Liu Chang survive his Flood Crossing, then built a Lightning Law Altar and welcomed his younger brothers and descendants to Thousand Wood Temple.

The arc left him preparing to cooperate with Wen Yang while learning that Li Yan had stolen the Cave Heaven Mirror and fled to the Capital City.

• Zi Luan assigned Wang Ping to raise funds and investigate the killing of Crescent Mountain’s Mountain God, while Wang Ping refused to question Daoist Yucheng about his heart demon.
• Wang Ping assembled an army and joined Zuo Xuan’s Mountain Search Operation in Youhuai Prefecture, where Xia Yan revealed that Young Master Ming was at Crescent Mountain with a store of Blood Pills.
• Wang Ping’s forces captured Crescent Mountain and uncovered its underground stronghold, but Zhong Tong was killed in an ambush while pursuing the fugitives.
• Wang Ping and his allies defeated Young Master Ming and his companions, then learned from Zhong Tong’s memories that Young Master Ming was Lord Xiaoshan’s Puppet, made using the consciousness of the Prefect’s youngest Disciple.

After the battle at Biyou Mountain turned disastrous, he escaped with a warning that Great-Grandmaster Changqing was in danger and headed toward Gray Water Pool with the female martial hero.

• Wang Ping met Huodouzi and Batu, learned the dangers of Outer Realm Demonic Creatures, fought Batu, and awakened the Purgatory Banner’s artifact spirit, Mingshui.
