Chen Bin jerked his head up. Tiger Two was crouched on all fours, pouncing toward him like a bolt of black lightning.
There wasn't a trace of fear in Chen Bin's eyes. He didn't dodge. Instead, he slowly raised the long blade in his hand, his gaze cold as a star in the winter night, chilling to the bone.
At the last possible moment, just as Tiger Two was upon him, Chen Bin moved.
His left foot darted sideways like a phantom, and his body pivoted nimbly with it. The black blade in his hand caught the sunlight and shimmered with a mysterious golden glow. In an instant, it came slashing down with tremendous force.
Tiger Two, his body shrouded in dense red demonic aura, had no time to see the fierce strike coming, let alone react. The blade cut him in half at the waist.
Tiger Two felt his limbs go limp all at once. His body lost its balance in midair, and before he could right himself, he crashed heavily to the ground, split in two.
Only then did pain, sharp as a knife, surge over him like a tidal wave.
Awooo...
Tiger Two's agonized howl ripped through the sky like a keen blade and echoed all around, startling flocks of birds into flight.

Tiger One had been about to charge in, but his steps abruptly faltered. A flicker of fear crossed his face.
I'm injured. There's no way I can beat this kid now.
I have to run. I have to get back and find Father.
I'm the only son Father has left.
He won't bear to kill me.
Kang Ronghao, who had been preparing to flee, froze when he heard the howl.
He turned and saw that Tiger Two was dead.
Suddenly, a flash of wild joy crossed his eyes. He shouted, "Chen Bin, I order you to kill Tiger One!"
Chen Bin's lips curled into a faint, meaningful smile. He walked toward Kang Ronghao with his blade in hand.
"What are you going to do?" Panic crept into Kang Ronghao's voice.
"My brother-in-law is a Commander in the City Guard Division, a Pulse Opening powerhouse.
"If you kill me, you'll die too."
Chen Bin stared hard at him, his gaze growing colder. At last, the emotions he had held back for so long boiled over.
He whipped his hand forward. The blade shot out like a black meteor and plunged straight into Kang Ronghao's heart.

Chen Bin's lips twisted into a mocking sneer. "Your brother-in-law will be along to keep you company soon."
Chen Bin jerked his head up. Tiger One's eyes were wide with terror as he turned and ran for South Mountain with all his might.
Chen Bin pushed off with his right foot, shooting forward like an arrow loosed from its bow.
In three breaths, he reached Kang Ronghao's body and yanked the blade from his heart.
Just five breaths later, Chen Bin caught up with Tiger One like a phantom.
The Demon Suppression Blade swept through the air, effortlessly slicing through Tiger One's protective demonic aura and leaving a string of appalling wounds across his body.
"Damn you! If you weren't going to kill me, why toy with me?" Tiger One roared, his voice full of resentment.
Chen Bin stood with his blade raised, pointing it straight at Tiger One. "Do you want to die, or live?"
"Go to hell!" Tiger One had never suffered such humiliation. He bared his teeth and charged, claws slashing.
Chen Bin's figure flickered. He used the Five Elements Plum Blossom Step, one of the Ten Perfect Steps, shifting like a phantom before turning and kicking out.
Tiger One's enormous body toppled over, beyond his control.
"You... deserve to die!" Tiger One struggled to roll over and lunge again, but a cold blade was already pressed to his throat.
The icy touch, combined with the steady loss of blood and demonic aura, made Tiger One feel his body growing colder by the moment.
For the first time, he truly understood that he might die here.
Chen Bin toyed with the blade in his hand, slowly drawing it across Tiger One's head. "Doesn't your Demon Race get stronger demonic aura and heal your wounds by eating people?"
A search for the book title didn't turn it up. You could try searching for the author instead. Maybe the title has changed!
"What are you planning?"
"Eat those people, and I'll spare you. You can heal your wounds, too."
Tiger One had gained sentience, after all, and instantly understood what Chen Bin intended.
"You want to destroy the evidence of your killings."
A cold glint flashed in Chen Bin's eyes. He thrust his blade down, piercing Tiger One's paw and pinning it to the ground.
Tiger One snarled furiously at Chen Bin, but Chen Bin kicked him hard in the head.
Tiger One's enormous body, a zhang long, was sent flipping by the tremendous force. But with the blade pinning him to the ground, he couldn't be flung away and crashed heavily onto the spot.
Tiger One spat out mouthful after mouthful of blood. The wound in his chest split open again, and blood gushed out.
I'm going to die. I'm going to die.
"I'll eat," Tiger One gritted out through clenched teeth.
"Go tear into those wounds," Chen Bin ordered coldly.
Chen Bin simply stood there and watched Tiger One pick up the headless corpses and gnaw greedily at the wounds in their necks. Then he swallowed their heads one by one, as if gulping down tangyuan.
As he ate, the food digested and turned into pure demonic aura, mending his wounds.
Finally, Chen Bin looked at Kang Ronghao's corpse. "Cut a hole in his chest, then rip out his heart."
Tiger One looked at Kang Ronghao's corpse, and greed flickered in his eyes.
A human at the Qi Gathering Realm, just like me...
If I eat him, my wounds will nearly heal.
"Why go to all that trouble? I'll just swallow him whole."
With that, Tiger One stuffed Kang Ronghao's corpse into his mouth and chewed it to pieces.
Tiger One's body trembled as the pure energy coursed through him.
Chen Bin watched silently as Tiger One chewed and swallowed the corpse. They were standing extremely close, barely an arm's length apart.
In that instant, Tiger One spun around and lunged at him, claws bared.
A black streak of light sliced through the air, gleaming with a chilling cold.
Chen Bin still wore that faint smile. He raised his blade and sneered, "With a brain like yours, you think you can turn the tables on me?"
The burly arm Tiger One had swung at him dropped to the ground.
"Roar!" In an instant, the Tiger Demon's pained howl rang across the land.
Then Tiger One's world spun. A tremendous rumble thundered in his ears, and his consciousness sank into endless darkness.

Chen Bin lightly shook the blade that had cut through Tiger One's head. Beads of blood fell one by one, forming a line on the ground. Then he slowly slid the Demon Suppression Blade back into its sheath.
He turned around and looked at the corpses strewn across the ground, a wave of melancholy rising in his heart.
What should I do with them?
Just then, he faintly heard the hurried clatter of hoofbeats in the distance.
He looked up and saw a group of people in Demon Suppression Division uniforms galloping toward him.
Looking closely, he recognized Liu Wei at their head.
"Captain Chen?"
Liu Wei yanked the reins. The fine horse beneath him whinnied and reared, its front hooves high in the air before it settled back down.
"Banner Officer Liu!"
Chen Bin rested his hand on the hilt of his blade.
His presence surged around him like crashing waves, then slowly ebbed away.
