Even though all I could hear right now was the sound of flames and Nergigante's furious roar, that familiar stirring still reached my ears!!
That music, etched into the depths of my blood and soul!!
The phantom sound was inaudible, yet at that moment it was deafening.
Xingyan felt awful all over. Every part of him was uncomfortable. After regrowing his forelegs, he'd usually walked on all fours to keep his body balanced.
But just now, when he'd rushed out of the sea of flames, he'd been so tense that he'd reared up and run on two legs, just like he used to.
It had been a completely instinctive reaction.

The roar grew deeper and louder. Xingyan had just emerged from the flames when he looked up and saw a black monster, red-faced and thick-necked, dive straight down from the sky. It slammed right into the spot where he and Nergigante had just been fighting!!

Thud, thud! Thud-thud-thud-thud-thud-thud-thud-thud!! Thud-thud-thud-thud!!!
Uh, this Brachydios didn't seem very bright. It had indeed swooped down from the sky and aimed its neck, covered in water-drop-shaped Blastscales, at the battlefield where Xingyan and Nergigante had been—just like Xingyan remembered it doing. But it was too slow.
Both Xingyan and Nergigante had already moved away, and Brachydios had noticed that too. But it couldn't adjust in time. No matter how it twisted, it couldn't hit either of them, and in the end it clumsily crashed into a rock.
That kind of impact wasn't anything Brachydios couldn't handle. It was one of its usual moves.
Amid the blaze, Brachydios got back to its feet and raised its thick head, looking between Xingyan and Nergigante.
