The hunters naturally couldn't understand what Xingyan was shouting, but they could see his movements and clearly grasp what he meant.
"Master! Quick!"
At the shout, the Leader ran beneath the rock first, with Sword Master and Dian Dian close behind. As for the two lance-wielding hunters farther away—well, good luck to them.
It wasn't a big problem, though. They were far away, and Nergigante wasn't targeting them.
Honestly, it felt more than a little strange. The Leader and the others could turn their heads and see Xingyan's powerful thighs, or look up and see his sharp saw-blades. It made them all the more aware that they were hiding behind a huge rock alongside a monster.
Nergigante's roar came through the rock wall with startling clarity. To be honest, this didn't feel safe at all. Just on the other side of the wall, not far away, Teostra was still fighting Brachydios.
One kept spewing fire or blanketing the battlefield with explosive powder. The other kept bellowing as it hurled itself madly at Teostra. The explosive scales on its chin and tail seemed to grow without costing it any energy, and the explosions never stopped.
The entire coastline had descended into chaos. The Leader and the others had never felt the New World's monsters' energy and vitality so keenly.
Roars, explosions, the sounds of the ground being torn apart—all of them intermingled until the hunters could barely hear what the person next to them was saying.
They didn't even know why they were hiding, or how long they'd have to stay there, behind a rock wall that wasn't actually safe. Teostra's flames were almost licking their backsides.
Luckily, they didn't have to endure the anxiety for long. In less than two seconds, Xingyan had put his planned defensive measures in place.
