Background

Tang San is the biological son of Tang Hao and Ah Yin. Lin Yuan's diary characterizes him as a transmigrated adult soul who retained memories and Tang Sect techniques from another world, rather than the original soul born to the body. Tang Hao initially sensed an unfamiliarity in him but accepted him because Tang San carried his bloodline and awakened the Clear Sky Hammer. 15 130

He entered Nuoding Academy with Innate Full Soul Power and became Yu Xiaogang's disciple. Yu Xiaogang discovered his second Martial Soul—the Clear Sky Hammer—and took Tang San to the Soul Hunting Forest for his first ring. Tang Hao secretly monitored the expedition and later entrusted Tang San to Yu Xiaogang's guidance. 8 19 20

Tang San initially cultivated Blue Silver Grass as his primary Martial Soul. His first ring granted Entangle, but his faith in Yu Xiaogang's theory was badly shaken after Lin Yuan destroyed his vines and defeated him in a single exchange. 30 43

A Misfortune Card used by Lin Yuan against him caused escalating accidents, including a failed Purple Demon Eye session that injured his eyes and a collapse that drenched him and Yu Xiaogang in fermented waste. 183 190 191 His misfortune later culminated in an unwanted ten-year Withered Bamboo ring and right-leg Soul Bone, both of which compromised his expected cultivation path. 209

Tang Hao responded by personally training him in Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer beneath a waterfall for four years, while Yu Xiaogang continued teaching martial-soul theory. Tang San reached Level 29 and entered Shrek Academy with Yu Xiaogang. 210

During the Continental Advanced Spirit Master Academy Elite Tournament, gray-white gas originating from Yu Xiaogang forcibly entered Tang San's body. Blue Silver Grass then shattered and vanished; he subsequently competed using the Clear Sky Hammer as a Level 41 Soul Ancestor. 266 270

Appearance

Tang San is initially depicted in simple cloth clothing, with an outwardly ordinary appearance. In the diary-described original timeline, awakening the Blue Silver Emperor bloodline transforms him into a blue-haired, handsome man with a noble and melancholy aura. 54 99 100

  • Initially carries the Twenty-Four Bridges Bright Moon Night storage belt. 20
  • His early Blue Silver Grass manifests as thick blue vines marked with black spots. 43
  • Appears gloomy and haggard after losing Blue Silver Grass. 270

Personality

Tang San is fiercely protective of Yu Xiaogang's reputation and reacts strongly when his teacher's theories are mocked. His challenge against Lin Yuan was driven as much by loyalty to Yu Xiaogang as by personal pride. 43

He is methodical and resourceful in combat, readily combining Soul Skills, Tang Sect movement techniques, and hidden weapons to overcome stronger opponents. His victory over Dai Mubai came from exploiting a brief opening with Blue Silver Pole Vault and Dragon Whisker Needles. 213 214

Despite his persistence under harsh training and repeated misfortune, he is vulnerable to self-doubt when confronted by major power gaps or the limitations of Blue Silver Grass. Yu Xiaogang repeatedly has to persuade him not to abandon his planned cultivation path. 43 235

Abilities & Skills

Twin Martial Souls

Tang San possesses Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer.

  • Blue Silver Grass — His original primary Martial Soul; it supported control-oriented combat before being destroyed. 43 266
  • Clear Sky Hammer — His surviving weapon Martial Soul, used as his main combat method after Blue Silver Grass disappears. 270
  • The two Martial Souls were described as having equivalent quality in the diary's account of their origin. 226

Blue Silver Grass Soul Skills

  • First Soul Skill: Entangle / Blue Silver Entanglement — Generates vines to bind or obstruct opponents. 30 43 212
    • The vines can be broken by sufficiently strong direct attacks or defensive power. 43 212
  • Second Soul Skill: Blue Silver Pole Vault — Produces a bamboo pole that launches Tang San through the air. 210 213
    • Blue Silver Pole Vault Double Jump — Attached right-leg Soul Bone skill that provides an additional aerial jump. 210
    • The skill lacks direct offensive or control power, but enables unconventional repositioning. 210 213

Clear Sky Hammer Techniques

  • Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer — A Clear Sky Sect hammer technique taught by Tang Hao through waterfall training. 210
    • Allows Tang San to borrow and redirect force in hammer exchanges. 270
  • Earthquake Wave — Used to disrupt Thunder Team's tactics. 273
  • Ten Thousand Jun Meteor — A finishing strike used to defeat Yu Tianxin. 273
  • Titan's Wrath — Third Soul Skill that doubles the hammer's weight and grants a dark-gold, super-armor-like state. 273

Tang Sect Techniques

Tang San's prior-life knowledge gives him access to Tang Sect cultivation and combat arts.

  • Mysterious Heaven Skill — His foundational cultivation method; it allows him to cultivate independently of Martial Soul-derived Soul Power. 15 210
  • Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track — Illusory movement technique used to evade attacks and alter positioning. 43 213
  • Mysterious Jade Hand — Turns his hands crystal-like and grants poison immunity while handling hidden weapons. 213
  • Purple Demon Eye — Eye technique cultivated by absorbing dawn purple qi; a Misfortune Card disruption causes severe eye injury during practice. 190

Hidden Weapons

Tang San forges and deploys concealed weapons without relying on Soul Power.

  • Sleeved Darts and Bone Piercing Nails are stored in his belt. 56
  • Dragon Whisker Needles can pierce internal defensive force and Soul Power shields. 213
  • His weapons decisively injure Dai Mubai and secure his admission to Shrek Academy. 213 214
  • He avoids relying on hidden weapons in formal matches after losing Blue Silver Grass. 235

Equipment / Weapons / Items

  • Hidden weapons — Self-forged defensive tools, including Sleeved Darts, Bone Piercing Nails, and Dragon Whisker Needles. 56 213
  • Ten-Year Withered Bamboo Right Leg Bone — Forcefully fused into his body; grants Blue Silver Pole Vault Double Jump. 209 210

Relationships

  • Tang Hao — Biological father and secret protector; later personally trains him in Clear Sky Sect hammer techniques. 19 210
  • Ah Yin — Birth mother; her Blue Silver Emperor bloodline was intended to be awakened in Tang San at Level 50 before he lost Blue Silver Grass. 12 235 270
  • Yu Xiaogang — Teacher and martial-soul theory mentor. Tang San strongly defends him and follows his cultivation guidance. 8 43 210
  • Lin Yuan — Rival who humiliates him in their first duel, later becomes the standard against which Tang San measures his own growing power gap. 43 235
  • Xiao Wu — Early classmate. Diary revelations about an original timeline cause her to question whether Tang San's concern for her was genuine. 94 96 99
  • Dai Mubai — First fought Tang San during Shrek Academy admission; later fights alongside him on Clear Sky Team. 213 214 273
  • Tang Long — Clear Sky Team captain who entrusts Tang San with tactical responsibilities against Thunder Team. 273
