In one corner of the battlefield, several enormous, grotesque figures stood in midair. Their feelers fluttering, they were doing everything they could to besiege a female immortal of the Human Race, clad in dark robes and black boots, with long, frost-white hair.
A pair of enormous butterfly wings drifted through the void. With a faint tremor, they sent five-colored mist crashing down, transforming it into a net like a rainbow veil that covered "Ling Yi."
Beside the butterfly immortal, another insect immortal, shaped like a fly, beat its four wings at a furious pace, its form a blur. As its mouthparts trembled rapidly, waves of mind-disturbing buzzing surged like a tide, filling the surrounding world.
A demonic locust appeared overhead. In an instant, one became ten, ten became a hundred, and in the blink of an eye they formed a dense, dark cloud. The sound of countless wings beating blended into an unbroken thunderclap as they roared through the air.
