Gorgon released his grip, looked at the Deep One, and laughed.
As he looked at the Deep One on the ground, an idea came to him.
On the ground, the Deep One climbed to his feet. He felt the call of the sea, then looked at Gorgon. This was not one of his kind.
And yet, he looked so much like them. An inexplicable sense of horror welled up inside him.
It was like the feeling humans got when they saw an imposter. Only to the Deep Ones, Gorgon was a fake fish.

The next moment, Gorgon reached out again and grabbed the Deep One by the head. A massive store of flesh and blood surged from his hand and burrowed into the Deep One's brain, beginning the process of transforming him.
Before long, the Deep One looked perfectly normal on the outside, but things had changed within.
Gorgon had installed a special organ in him. It could secrete a unique biological virus, which could be injected into other Deep Ones to convert them without their noticing.
"Come, my children. Take me to your village. I'll bring you bliss!"
Not long afterward, in a town on the edge of the sea.
