Golden light flashed like a bolt of lightning, and a thin line appeared across the White Snake Sage's body.
"Ah..."
Her enormous body trembled, and her massive eyes snapped open in terror. A despairing cry escaped the White Snake Sage's mouth. The next instant, splurt—
Scarlet blood gushed from the gash. The White Snake Sage's body split apart like a stick cleaved in two, and she died in utter misery and despair.
"Praise Brahman!"
Abbot knelt on one knee, holding his staff and praising Brahman with utmost devotion. Then he stood up without looking back.
Ryūchi Cave, a powerful force that had existed for a thousand years or perhaps even longer, with an ancient history, that had watched the Shinobi World's fortunes shift and wielded the mighty power known as Senjutsu—and that fed on humans—was destroyed on this day.
It had died at the hands of a group of cockroaches. So much for the so-called sages. How powerful they were! And yet, for all their might, they couldn't even beat a few lowly, weak cockroaches that could be crushed with a slipper or a single stomp.
How pitiful!
The mighty, ancient White Snake Sage, wielder of Senjutsu, probably never imagined she would die at the hands of a weak, common cockroach that could only use chakra.
If someone had told the White Snake Sage that she would die—killed by a cockroach, by some Uchiha Brahman who had appeared out of nowhere—
The White Snake Sage would surely have laughed, then eaten them. She would die?
How could that be possible? She was the White Snake Sage, alive since a thousand years ago. She hadn't died even when Kaguya descended. How could she possibly die at the hands of a cockroach? How could she die at the hands of an Uchiha Brahman who couldn't even use Senjutsu, whose lifespan wasn't a fraction of hers, and who was separated from Kaguya by who knew how many generations, with only the tiniest trace of shared blood?
Absurd. A joke!
As a sage, she had been so proud, so powerful. Wouldn't that Uchiha Brahman have to kneel before her and beg her to inject him with venom, doing everything he could to obtain the power of Senjutsu from her?
Being killed was utterly impossible.
But now, the White Snake Sage believed it, because she was already dead.
"Miss Katsuyu, may I trouble you for a few minutes? I'd like to introduce you to our Lord, our Heavenly Father, the supreme and most exalted, supremely benevolent and kind, boundlessly merciful Great Sun, the great Savior, Lord Brahman! Our great Kind Father!"
In Shikkotsu Forest, Dagon looked at the giant slug eating before him and spoke with impeccable manners.
Compared with the Great Horned Rat's madness and Abbot's cold cruelty, Dagon was clearly more rational—or, one might say, more human. Though he was just as cruel and violent, that was only in battle. Dagon didn't mind ending a fight peacefully.
Rather than a monster who loved slaughter, the Deep One was more like a missionary.
"Who are you?"
The giant slug stopped eating. The other slugs that had split off from her enormous body stopped eating as well, all lifting their heads to look at Dagon.
Katsuyu Sage could sense the utterly terrifying chakra contained within this strange-looking creature. There was also a terrifying pull about him, like an abyss. Even she couldn't help being drawn in by Dagon's words.
"My name is Dagon. I am a creation of the great Brahman. May I trouble you for a few minutes? I will introduce you to our supreme Father, our boundlessly merciful Lord!"
Dagon maintained his polite manner, his clouded, vacant eyes fixed indifferently on the giant slug. If Katsuyu Sage refused his preaching, he would have no choice but to resort to physical means.
"Certainly. You can tell me about him."
Katsuyu Sage nodded. Of the Three Great Sacred Places, she had the gentlest disposition.
But of the three species, Dagon had the gentlest disposition, too. If Dagon had gone to Ryūchi Cave, it wouldn't have been wiped out outright.
"Wonderful! Praise Brahman! Brahman! His name is supreme and exalted. He is the ultimate ruler of the world, the beginning and end of all things. He is our Kind Father, the sun in the heavens, radiating endless light that illuminates our souls and bodies. Praise Brahman! Praise the Kind Father! The great Brahman has bestowed such grace upon us that we must spend our entire lives repaying him..."
"We could never repay the Kind Father's grace..."
Dagon praised him with utter devotion, his heart blazing with fervor and excitement. How moving! How great!
High above, the Shadow Clones of Uchiha Brahman watched Dagon and nodded in satisfaction.
"Not bad, not bad! Dagon is a good boy!"
One of the Shadow Clones nodded.
"How are things going with the main body?"
"He should have taken down Kirigakure by now!"
Uchiha Brahman's Shadow Clones chatted among themselves.
In Shikkotsu Forest, Dagon stopped after finishing his introduction to the great Brahman.
"No. I don't want to worship any Brahman. Could you leave?"
Katsuyu Sage shook her head and rejected him.
"What did you say?!"
Dagon stared at the beast in disbelief, unable to understand. Why? Why didn't she want to pledge her loyalty to the great Brahman, their Kind Father?
Did she know how much she owed the great Brahman, the great Kind Father, for being allowed to live in this world?
Ah!
"How dare you? How can you refuse the grace of the great Brahman after learning how mighty and merciful he is?!"
Dagon simply couldn't understand the beast's thinking. He had explained Lord Brahman's greatness. Shouldn't the beast have immediately fallen to her knees and pledged her loyalty to the great Lord Brahman?
"Unforgivable! Roar!"
Dagon let out a furious roar, powerful chakra surging through him. The next instant, he opened his mouth, and a massive current of electricity surged from his body, crackling and flashing.
At this, Katsuyu Sage immediately attacked Dagon.
Tongue Tooth Acid
A mass of mucus sprayed from Katsuyu Sage's mouth.
But it was useless. The powerful acid, capable of dissolving most things, was blocked by the terrifying electrical field surrounding Dagon.
With a Nuclear Fusion Reactor powering him, Dagon had no need to worry about running out of energy.
"Atomic Breath!"
His terrifying chakra spun, forming a blue-violet electromagnetic beam that could annihilate everything. The next instant, the horrifying ray shot from Dagon's mouth.
