Tang San watched the punch and threw out his right fist as well. The instant he struck, his fist turned a lustrous milky white.
This was a Tang Sect secret technique—Mysterious Jade Hand!
With a muffled bang, the golden-haired man's charging body came to an abrupt halt.
Tang San, however, could not stop himself from staggering back four or five steps before regaining his balance.
A flicker of surprise appeared in the golden-haired man's eyes.
He had not expected this young man, who looked several years younger than himself, to be able to take his punch.
What surprised him even more was that he had clearly held the advantage in attack power.
Yet his right hand now felt as though it were splitting apart with pain. Under that last punch, Tang San's fist had seemed as hard as cast copper and forged iron.
"You can take one of my punches, so you're no nobody. I, Dai Mubai, don't fight nameless people. What's your name?"
Tang San steadied himself, unyielding fighting spirit burning in his eyes.
He watched Dai Mubai's slightly parted mouth, left open in surprise, while slowly flexing his numb right fist.
The lustrous milky white was gradually fading from his knuckles, revealing his original skin tone.
"Tang San."
He spoke the two words. His voice was somewhat hoarse from his surging blood and energy, yet every word was clear.
Dai Mubai raised an eyebrow. He clearly had not expected this seemingly slight young man to take his charged blow head-on, much less calmly state his name.
He shook his somewhat numb left hand. His knuckles still faintly ached from their recent collision.
"Tang San..."
Dai Mubai repeated the name, then suddenly grinned, his smile carrying a hint of arrogance.
"Good name. I'll remember it. My name is Dai Mubai. Consider that punch just now a greeting gift."
With that, he suddenly stepped forward, and the Soul Power around him surged explosively.
His golden hair stirred without wind, and his previously restrained aura spread outward like a tsunami.
It was as though countless invisible fists were gathering in the air, pressing down on Tang San.
"White Tiger! Possession!"
A layer of intense pale light suddenly erupted from his body as Dai Mubai spread both arms to his sides.
His chest thrust outward, his bones crackling in a series of pops as his muscles abruptly swelled, stretching his clothes tight.
Every muscle beneath his clothes became strikingly distinct, and even the air around him seemed to turn violent because of it.
His head of golden hair instantly became black and white, with white making up most of it while several strands of black stood out sharply.
Four faint markings appeared on his forehead—three horizontal and one vertical—forming the character for king.
His hands underwent the greatest change, growing more than twice their previous size.
White fur covered his entire palms. As his ten fingers flexed, dagger-like claws extended from and retracted into his palms.
Each claw was like a blade, fully eight inches long and glinting with a cold, sinister light.
Dai Mubai slowly bent forward, and both pupils in his Evil Eyes turned a deep, profound blue.
Beneath his feet, three gleaming rings rose one after another, silently ascending.
Two yellow and one purple. As the Soul Rings revolved, surging Soul Power crashed toward Tang San like waves.
"A Thousand Year Soul Ring!" Xiao Wu cried out, her eyes gaining a trace of panic.
Xiao Wu wanted to step forward and fight shoulder to shoulder with Tang San, but Tang San stopped her.
"Dai Mubai, Martial Soul: White Tiger. Level thirty-seven Assault System Battle Soul Elder. Please instruct me."
Dai Mubai looked at Tang San before him and announced his Martial Soul and level. Among Soul Masters, this represented a formal challenge.
Holding the Blue Silver Grass in his hand, Tang San looked at Dai Mubai and said:
"Tang San, Martial Soul: Blue Silver Grass. Level twenty-nine Control System Soul Master. Please instruct me."
Seeing Tang San's Martial Soul, Dai Mubai's eyebrow twitched.
"Your Martial Soul is just Blue Silver Grass?"
Tang San repeated Master's original words. "There are no useless Martial Souls, only useless Soul Masters."
"Well said. There are no useless Martial Souls, only useless Soul Masters."
"Then let me see what is so extraordinary about your Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul."
Dai Mubai's figure flashed as he lunged straight at Tang San. The claws attached to all ten of his fingers sprang out at once, slashing toward Tang San's body.
Tang San retreated almost without hesitation. With Ghost Shadow Perplexing Track beneath his feet, he evaded Dai Mubai's repeated attacks.
The Blue Silver Grass Martial Soul in his hand also moved rapidly, and thick blue-black vines appeared out of thin air one after another.
They surged toward Dai Mubai from every direction.
Watching the Blue Silver Grass rushing toward him, light flashed repeatedly in Dai Mubai's Evil Eyes.
His entire body was covered in surging Soul Power. With both hands waving, he tore apart every vine that reached him.
A faint grassy smell filled the hotel lobby.
The vines seemed endless, continuously surging forth from all directions.
Although Dai Mubai's strength and speed had greatly increased under Martial Soul Possession, he still could not break free from the vines' range.
"Damn it! Second Spirit Skill—White Tiger Blazing Light Wave!"
From the outside, Dai Mubai's body had already been trapped within the massive tangle of vines.
Just as Tang San let out a slight sigh of relief, countless rays of white light suddenly shot out through the gaps in the vines.
Immediately afterward, a muffled explosion boomed.
The vines formed from Blue Silver Grass shattered and scattered in an instant. The powerful shockwave swept through the Rose Hotel's lobby, leaving it in utter disarray.
Caught in the shockwave, Tang San staggered back several steps before steadying himself.
The white light gradually faded, revealing Dai Mubai's figure.
The shattered Blue Silver Grass began gathering around Tang San again, though there was clearly far less of it than before.
"Tang San, the power of your Blue Silver Grass was beyond my expectations, but it still can't trap me."
Tang San smiled calmly. "Not necessarily."
All of a sudden, Tang San's second Soul Ring lit up.
Dai Mubai's body abruptly stiffened. Layer upon layer of fine vines emerged across his body.
The thorns on the vines were only about an inch long. Though they could not pierce Dai Mubai's defenses, their continuous tightening sent waves of intense pain through his body.
"This is my Second Spirit Skill—Parasite! When you shattered my Blue Silver Grass, its seeds had already been left on your body."
"You can't break free. You've lost this battle!"
Dai Mubai stared at Tang San. Other than his head, his entire body was now wrapped in Blue Silver Grass, and savage glints flashed repeatedly in his eyes.
"Good. What impressive Blue Silver Grass. If I had only two Soul Rings like you, then I really would have lost."
"My body has already gone numb, and it'll be difficult to break free from this Blue Silver Grass. But after all, I have one more Soul Ring than you."
"I originally didn't want to use my Third Soul Skill. But now, I can only let you see it."
As he spoke, the purple Soul Ring around Dai Mubai instantly flared with light.
Even the air around Dai Mubai's body began to distort, and his Evil Eyes suddenly turned blood-red.
Then, the Blue Silver Grass wrapped around him abruptly swelled.
With a deafening bang, every strand of Blue Silver Grass binding his body was blasted into powder.
