Background

Dai Mubai was the Third Prince of the Star Luo Empire and the younger brother of Davis. At age twelve, he fled Star Luo after being unable to withstand Davis's suppression, leaving his fiancée Zhu Qing behind to endure ridicule for three years. Rather than focusing on cultivation during that time, he pursued women in the Heaven Dou Empire. 43

He later joined Shrek Academy, where he acted as a senior figure among the students. His first encounter with Tang San began as a fight over a hotel room. Dai Mubai formally challenged Tang San after the younger boy blocked his punch, then ultimately stopped his empowered claws just before striking Tang San, acknowledging that Tang San had forced him to use his third Soul Skill. 24 25

Appearance

Dai Mubai is a golden-haired young man with distinctive Evil Eyes. His White Tiger possession gives him a larger, heavily muscled frame and a more feral appearance. 24 25

  • Golden hair in human form; it turns predominantly white with black strands during Martial Soul possession. 24
  • Four forehead markings form the character for “king.” 24
  • Enlarged, fur-covered hands with retractable eight-inch tiger claws. 24
  • His pupils become deep blue under White Tiger possession. 24
  • During White Tiger Vajra Transformation, black-and-white markings or fur spread over his body. 25 164
  • He cut his hair and slashed his own face to evade the Heaven Dou border inspection, leaving a visible facial scar even after treatment. 192 193 194

Personality

Dai Mubai is proud, confrontational, and quick to look down on opponents he considers weak. He provoked Canghui Academy, dismissed its Martial Souls as worthless, and openly relished overwhelming weaker opponents. 54 55 164

Despite this arrogance, he can recognize strength and show restraint. He acknowledged Tang San as a worthy opponent, halted a potentially crippling strike, and served as a combat leader during the confrontation with Ye Zhi Qiu and the Star Dou Great Forest expedition. 25 56 58

His jealousy, insecurity, and lack of self-control severely damaged his relationship with Zhu Qing. While drunk, he struck her and attempted to force her to obey him; after she dissolved their engagement, he abandoned attempts to reconcile. 155 159 His rage later spiraled into the killing of Xue Beng—though Su Yu secretly amplified Dai Mubai's violent emotions with the Immortal Slaying Array Diagram. 165 166

Abilities & Skills

White Tiger Martial Soul

Dai Mubai possesses the White Tiger Martial Soul, a close-combat Martial Soul focused on physical power, speed, and intimidation. At his introduction, he possessed three Soul Rings—two yellow and one purple—and identified himself as a level 37 Assault System Battle Soul Elder. 24

  • Emits a beast-king aura capable of intimidating weaker Soul Masters. 55

Story Role / Major Arcs

Shrek Academy and Early Battles

Dai Mubai is introduced through his clash with Tang San, where his superior Soul Ring count and White Tiger abilities force Tang San onto the defensive. The fight concludes without a decisive injury after Dai Mubai voluntarily withdraws his final attack. 24 25

He later displays his aggressive leadership by provoking Canghui Academy and easily defeating its students. Against the five-ring Ye Zhi Qiu, however, Dai Mubai’s attacks prove ineffective, exposing the gap between his Soul Venerable-level strength and a stronger opponent’s defense. 54 55 56

Collapse of His Engagement

Dai Mubai’s possessiveness toward Zhu Qing grows increasingly open after seeing her become close to Su Yu. 52 While intoxicated, he slapped Zhu Qing and attempted to intimidate her into obedience, prompting Tang San and Oscar to restrain him. 155

His apology failed. Zhu Qing formally dissolved their engagement, and Dai Mubai eventually gave up on reconciliation after recognizing that he could neither defeat Davis nor persuade Zhu Qing to train a Martial Soul Fusion Skill with him. 159

Murder of Xue Beng and Flight

At Tian Chun Pavilion, Dai Mubai defeated Xue Beng’s followers after a dispute connected to Ling Yuan. He then brutally beat Xue Beng to death in public after the prince tried to flee. 163 164 165

Realizing that he had killed a Heaven Dou prince, Dai Mubai fled Heaven Dou City in panic. His loss of control had been covertly influenced by Su Yu, who used the Immortal Slaying Array Diagram to intensify Dai Mubai’s anger and violence. 166

Fugitive, Extradition, and Death

While fleeing toward Star Luo, Dai Mubai cut his hair, scarred his face, covered himself in mud, and pretended to be deaf and mute to pass the heavily guarded border. 192 He reached Luoke City severely wounded and was treated by an old physician, but retained a facial scar. 193 194

Dai Mubai expected protection from his father, Dai Tianfeng, but was imprisoned under Davis’s watch. Dai Tianfeng instead chose to surrender him to Heaven Dou to prevent war between the two empires. 196 197

Prince Xue Xing had Dai Mubai tortured in Heaven Dou’s imperial prison before Emperor Xue Ye ordered his public execution. By the time he reached the execution platform, Dai Mubai was physically broken and offered no resistance. 199 200 201 202
