As the jade-green flower took shape and brought the Heavenly Demon Python completely under control, Qing Lin slowly closed her exhausted green eyes in relief.
Her long lashes trembled, betraying the immense mental strain and toll on her soul from using the pupil technique.
Behind her, the enormous phantom of the Nine-headed Heavenly Serpent, which had radiated overwhelming pressure, seemed to have fulfilled its purpose. It grew hazy, then transparent, before vanishing into the distorted space.
The ancient pressure that had filled the heavens and earth faded with it, as though it had never been there.
The sky returned to its former gloom. Only a docile black python now lay coiled beneath it.
"Qing Lin, are you all right?"
Brilliant golden light surged as Lin Ming's body rapidly shrank back to that of a black-robed young man. In a flash, he appeared beside the pale, slightly breathless Qing Lin and gently steadied her by the shoulder. "Are you all right?" he asked, concern in his eyes.
"I'm fine, Brother Lin Ming!"
The warmth and support of Lin Ming's hand eased her heart. A relieved smile appeared on her pale face, and she nodded.
Though tired, her voice held far more delight at her success. "It's a good thing you held it still, Brother Lin Ming. You crushed its ferocity with brute force, so I could focus entirely on pushing the Origin Demon Eye power of my Triple Jade-Green Snake Flower Pupils to its limit... Otherwise, with its strength and savage nature, I might not have been able to subdue it on my own..."
