Cultivation System

Cultivation begins with sensing the Dou Qi present in the surrounding environment. Advancement to Fighter opens a Dou Qi vortex in the dantian, where Dou Qi is cultivated through the lower realms. Gaseous Dou Qi becomes liquid at Dou Shi, then is compressed into solid crystalline energy at Dou Grandmaster, forming the Dou Crystal that is later dissolved into the body upon reaching Dou King. 1 86 210

Attributes and Cultivation

Five Elements Dou Qi

Lin Ming cultivates mutually reinforcing Five Elements Dou Qi through the Chaos Spirit Five Elements Technique. His restored vortex manifests five colors—red, cyan, yellow, black, and white—and maintaining their balance is necessary during breakthroughs. 1 85

• The elemental cycle is described as fire generating earth, earth generating metal, and metal generating water. 85
• The complete Five Elements cycle also includes water generating wood and wood generating fire. 14
• Five Elements energy can form a visible five-colored vortex within the dantian. 28 85

• Before becoming a Fighter, the Chaos Spirit Five Elements Technique requires Lin Ming to cultivate the equivalent of five portions of Dou Qi in order to establish his Five Elements Physique. • The technique has nine layers. Its sixth layer can open all of the practitioner’s meridians for cultivation, while the ninth layer permits every cell in the body to cultivate. Mutated and Specialized Dou Qi

Some Fighting Skills are affected by the practitioner’s Dou Qi attributes.

• A thunder-and-earth mutation enabled the creator of a fist technique to wield power exceeding ordinary Mysterious Tier Low-grade Fighting Skills; more extreme Dou Qi could potentially raise it beyond Mysterious Tier Mid-grade. 4
• Fire and lightning are identified as a notably powerful two-attribute combination in combat. 1
• Poison Dou Qi is associated with dangerous physiques such as the Calamity Poison Body; sufficient poison supplies can accelerate a wielder’s cultivation dramatically, but toxin eruption remains a long-term danger. 321
• Before the Fighter realm, absorbed Dou Qi is comparatively mild and primarily nourishes the meridians. Afterward, attribute-bearing Dou Qi has far greater destructive force, though its violent nature makes it unsuitable for unprepared lower-stage bodies. 14

Major advancements are achieved by compressing, transforming, or redistributing Dou Qi, rather than merely accumulating it.

• Dou Qi to Fighter — A practitioner who has sensed Dou Qi opens a vortex within the dantian and formally begins Dou Qi cultivation. 1 210

Source Qi and the Dou Di Barrier

Source Qi is necessary for becoming a Dou Di. The ancient sealing of the passage between the Dou Qi Continent and the main world depleted the continent’s Source Qi, preventing new Dou Di from emerging for countless years. 79 1136 1182

• Tuoshe Ancient Emperor collected the last two complete portions of Source Qi: one for his own breakthrough and one for refining an Emperor Pill Prototype. 79
• Before the passage was reopened, the Tou She Ancient God’s Cave Mansion was said to contain the final portion of Source Qi; its entrance required the eight fragments of the Tou She Ancient God Jade. 1136
