After defeating Ren Fei Yun and plundering the Poison Cloud Sect’s resources, Lin Ming advanced to Nine-Star Dou King and prepared to set out with Zi Yan.

• Xiao Yan defeated Nalan Yanran in the Three Year Agreement, and Yun Yun intervened to save her before Xiao Yan left the Misty Cloud Sect.
• Lin Ming broke through to Seven-Star Dou King, then agreed to accompany Xiao Yi Xian to Heavenly Poison City while Ya Fei promised to manage the family in his absence.

• Lin Ming and Zi Yan reached Magic Flame City, explored Nong Yan Pavilion, and continued on to Jia Nan Academy, where Chen Yuanlong welcomed Lin Ming back.

• Lin Ming watched the Fallen Heart Flame erupt from the tower, and Su Qian led the elders and students in sealing the escaping Formless Fire Python.
• Han Feng and his Black Corner Region allies attacked the Inner Academy, while Lin Ming and Zi Yan defeated Elder Ban and Xiao Yan fought Fan Lao.
• The Fallen Heart Flame broke free again, attacked Han Feng, and then turned on Xiao Yan as both sides fought for control of it.

He traveled to Black Emperor City seeking rare beast materials, where Mo Tianxing offered him a mysterious corpse that had neared the Eighth Order.
