Marquez frowned, boarded the shuttle ahead of them, and went to deal with the newly added trouble of "Holy Relic maintenance."
Rovi and Priest Alpha headed to a corner of Platform D-4.
Several inconspicuous metal crates were piled there.
They were the batch of supplies allocated by Jialan the Apothecary.
Priest Alpha crouched before the crates, swiftly inventorying the supplies inside.
"Praise the generosity of the Astral Governors."
The Priest's voice carried barely restrained fervor.
"Three sets of high-precision Augur Array lens components. These are core spare parts found only in the Forge Temple of Mars."
"And these—Emperor above, this is bio-gel and genetic stabilizer exclusively for Astartes."
The Priest raised a tube of blue reagent before his eyes as though admiring a work of art.
"What use are these to us? We don't have the conditions to perform Astartes augmentation surgery," Rovi asked.
"Advisor, do you remember the Wall of Gluttony's recent appetite?"
Rovi nodded.
Chimera 1's living battle tank had indeed become increasingly difficult to control recently.
Ever since it had devoured Vulkan, adjutant to Butcher Bill and a fourth-generation elite hybrid, the Bio-Armor on its surface had grown thicker and thicker, and had recently begun infiltrating the interior of the vehicle.
The lead plates and Ceramite that had originally served as isolation layers were being slowly corroded by the acid it secreted.
If this continued, the cockpit would sooner or later be filled with living tissue.
By then, it would no longer be a controlled vehicle, but a monster completely out of control.
"This is an imbalance in its rejection response."
Priest Alpha explained.
"Terra's genetic technology is fundamentally about suppressing uncontrolled biological mutation. These Astartes genetic stabilizers have an extremely powerful biological suppressive effect."
As he spoke, the Priest gently tucked the reagent into his robes.
