Chinese fans watching Danny interview Wang Yi all burst out laughing.
"Hahahaha, I'm laughing so hard I'm about to hurt myself."
"Hahahahahaha, I'm laughing so hard my organs are coming out."
"Hahaha, Brother Yi is so fierce on the court, making all the NBA stars fall in line, but he just can't bring himself to be tough with Danny."
"I'm dying. What a question! How will Brother Yi answer?"
On screen, Wang Yi looked at Danny with a perfectly serious expression.
"Since you just asked such an excellent question, I'll reward you with another chance to ask me one."
When other reporters interviewed Wang Yi courtside after a game, they were only allowed to ask him three questions.
If Wang Yi had told them he was giving them an extra question, they'd have been thrilled enough to wake up laughing from a dream.
But when Danny heard this, he looked troubled.
He knew the boss obviously hadn't liked his last question, so he thought for a long while, then remembered the question the boss had asked him earlier.
So he threw the same question right back at Wang Yi.
"Then please give us your assessment of the Lakers' number-one pick, Arthur."
The viewers watching the interview doubled over laughing.
"Danny really is a genius interviewer."
"If he became a reporter, he'd be even more famous than he is as a player."
Danny had Wang Yi at a loss for words. Wang Yi shook his head and could only answer the question with a straight face:
"What? Who are you talking about?"
Danny repeated, "The Lakers' number-one pick this year, Michael Arthur."
Wang Yi scratched his head, looking puzzled.
"Do the Lakers have a player like that? Did he play in the game? How come I don't know?"
